“Sex And The City 2″ Disappoints At The Weekend Box Office. Is the public so over Carrie and the girls?  The overly hyped and excessively photoshopped “Sex and the City 2″ not only got brutal reviews from critics, it also underwhelmed at the box office during the Memorial Day weekend. Although it grossed $32.1 million during the weekend, compared to its 2008 predecessor, “SATC 2″ was a disappointment at the box office. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, though, as majority of the critics gave the Sarah Jessica Parker-led sequel scathing reviews. Another newcomer is the Jake Gyllenhaal-starrer “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” which underperformed at third place with $30,170 gross. Shrek and the gang still hold the top spot with $42.3 million from Friday to Sunday.
