Exlovers announce details of new single ‘Blowing Kisses’.

Exlovers announce details of new single 'Blowing Kisses'.
Exlovers will release their new single ‘Blowing Kisses’ on 7th March through independent label Young & Lost. The single comes backed by brand new track ‘Moth-eaten Memories’ which is available as a free download now exclusively from our Stay Loose Soundcloud page: http://soundcloud.com/stayloose/exlovers-moth-eaten-memories Formed in late 2008 by singer and song writer Peter Scott, Exlovers have a gorgeous wistful indie-pop sound full of boy-girl harmonies that combine sweetly sombre lyrical musings with lo-fi guitars. Reminiscent of artists such as Teenage Fanclub, The Cure, The Dandy Warhols and Belle and Sebastian, Exlovers have a deliciously nostalgic 90s indie sound that is instantly warming. New single ‘Blowing Kisses’ is a two minute rollercoaster ride of glorious melodic pop with delightful vocal harmonies. With lyrics such as ‘Blowing kisses, telling tales, I know you’re waiting for someone else’ the song has romantic yet solemn lyrics that despite sounding joyous, have quite a dark undertone. Peter and guitarist Chris met in St Ives Cornwall and became friends through a mutual love of music. Peter then moved to London to study at Goldsmiths University at which time he met co-singer Laurel. The three of them began recording demos with the pair singing and were introduced to drummer Brooke and bassist Danny. The five musicians soon began writing and touring together. Exlovers released a 10′ vinyl EP in late 2009 through Chess Club Records which received a steady steam of support from radio DJs such as Steve Lamacq, Zane Lowe and Huw Stephens and the band were added to the daytime playlists at both 6Music and XFM. The EP title track ‘You Forget So Easily’ was recorded with Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur). The band are currently recording their debut album at Rockfield Studios in Wales with Demian Castellanos and Jimmy Robertson (Florence and the Machine, Big Pink) which will be released later this year. After touring with the likes of Golden Silvers, Pete and the Pirates and Pete Doherty, along with performing at festivals including Glastonbury and Secret Garden Party, Exlovers will perform a string of UK headline shows starting next month.

Funeral Party label The Drums as Primadonas

Funeral Party
Funeral Party have been laying into fellow Americans The Drums on Xfm. Speaking to Steve Harris on the 02 Evening Show last night (January 19) it would appear the two bands didn’t get on very well on a recent tour. When questioned about their message to Jonathan Pierce and co the response was:”You suck! No, just kidding, we love you guys really, lets do another tour together we’ll steal more of your alcohol. They’re just primadonnas and we’re just cool guys. We didn’t have a tour bus, they did – that just sums it up right there.”The LA rockers – who’s debut album ‘Golden Age of Nowhere’ is out a week on Monday – also had a go at some Xfm royalty even if some of their comments were lost in translation: “I like The Smiths but Morrissey’s just, I don’t know – what’s the English term – a Twot?”
