The rock legends were performing a show at the Telenor Arena near Oslo, but concert-goers were forced to endure long traffic jams to get to the venue.
The problem got worse after the gig, with stationary traffic and apparent poor transport links leaving many people stranded.
Norwegian website Budstikka.no reports that things soon turned ugly with many fans venting their anger on police officers – throwing bottles at patrol cars and tearing down fences erected to control the crowds
The former Cream and Radio One DJ will be headlining Club V at The Vincent, a cutting edge hotel in Southport, which is set to be the first of many.
The opening night will see the stylish hotel transformed into a Russian winter wonderland, guests will be greeted with a snow storm reception, giant ice sculpture and Vodka Luge served by Abercrombie and Fitch models.
The venue will be decked out in edgy soviet decor, with life sized bears, and champagne bottles set alight with sparklers.
The Vincent has become a regular haunt for the rich and famous, including Hollywood actor Jude Law, footballer Steven Gerrard and his wife Alex Curran, as well as stars from Coronation Street, Hollyoaks and the Premiership.
The venue which combines contemporary decor with Manhattan-style chic has also become a sought after location for photo shoots for celebrity magazine such as OK and Tatler.
