Justin Bieber was told off by cabin crew for “acting like a child” during a flight. The ‘Baby’ hitmaker was reportedly scolded by an air stewardess who said he was a security risk after he and his bodyguard walked through the aisle from business to economy class as the plane was moving on the ground, during a Qantas flight from Sydney to Melbourne on Sunday (01.05.11).
According to Australia’s Daily Telegraph newspaper, he was left red-faced after the staff member told him to “respect my workplace” and told the pop superstar she was treating him like a child because he was acting like one.
The 17-year-old singer then apologised for his behaviour and returned to his seat.
Paul Howes, who was sitting behind Justin on the Qantas flight, wrote about the incident on his twitter page.
He tweeted: “He was a little naughty but did apologise and the flight attendant wasn’t out of order.”
The day before he boarded the flight Justin was pelted with eggs by a fan during a concert in Sydney.
Although the Canadian singer appeared not to notice and carried on with the show, his fans ‘ who refer to themselves as ‘Beliebers’ ‘ took to twitter to condemn the egg-thrower.
One wrote: ‘Dear person who threw eggs at @justinbieber in Sydney, you now have over #9millionbeliebers after you, be afraid! We go harder than hard!
New Kids on the Block member Donnie Wahlberg showed that he has the right stuff by helping one of his fans find a new kidney. Although, all he had to do was send a tweet. Twitter is officially a life-saver, especially for New Kids fan Bobbette Miller. According to the Boston Herald, Miller’s best friend sent out a tweet about how one of her kidneys was failing was fast and needed a transplant quick.
“Basically, a few of my Twitter followers retweeted a blog (called ‘Love Can Do Anything’) about a fan named Bobbette who was in desperate need of a kidney transplant,” he told Boston Herald’s Inside Track. “So I saw the tweet, read the link and then retweeted and asked for help.”
Wahlberg retweeted the link about Miller to his 183,000-plus followers, where fans started to make phone calls to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where Miller was being treated.
Six matches were found and now Miller is scheduled for a transplant in June, which Wahlberg chalks up to a “team effort.”
Wahlberg is currently in rehearsals for a real team effort, the NKOTBSB tour, which brings together members of New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys for a major U.S. tour
This week, the cast of the upcoming animated flick “Rio” held the world premiere for their movie in—wouldn’t ya know—Rio de Janeiro! Jesse Eisenberg (who voices the main character Blu) and his co-stars headed down to Brazil for all the colorful fun, including Will.i.am. who snapped pictures with his “Rio” pal Anne Hathaway (pictured) and shared with followers, “Me and ann hathaway in rio…she sings the fabulous by the way.” But they weren’t the only ones enjoying themselves, as Jamie Foxx, who also lends his voice to the movie, previously posted, “I’m canceling my life…. I’m in Brazil to stay…..”
Meanwhile, back in La La Land, the ladies of “Sucker Punch” held their premiere on Wednesday night. Everyone from Emily Browning to Vanessa Hudgens walked the red carpet, and it seems Zack Snyder’s dreamy caper is already getting raves. “Juno” writer and all-around kick-butt chick herself Diablo Cody checked out the film and gave her own unique thoughts on it from her Twitter, “Saw the amazing “Sucker Punch” last night. I have officially retitled it “Holly Madison vs. the World.”
Late night talk show host Chelsea Handler beat out comedian Ellen DeGeneres as the funniest woman on the Web, according to a list released Tuesday. The list by PeekYou, a search engine that ranks individuals’ online prominence, found that Handler was picked as the top 10 women who cracks the best jokes on television and on Twitter and Facebook. DeGeneres came in second place, while other funny ladies like Kathy Griffin, Maria Bamford and Jackie Kashian followed behind. The top list also made room for Handlers’ friends and frequent panelists on E!’s “Chelsea Lately” show, including Jen Kirkman, Lonnie Love, Natasha Leggero, Heather McDonald and Sarah Colonna. With the success of her 2010 hit book, “Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang” and comedy tour, which grossed more than $16 million, Handler is planning to embark on yet another stand-up comedy tour, reports Entertainment Weekly. The comedienne, who is reportedly dating rapper 50 Cent, will launch the “Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me” tour, which shares a title with her upcoming book, in Boston on May 10. Fellow comedians McDonald, Brad Wollack and Josh Wolf will join the star on multiple dates. Handler will perform shows in cities including Chicago, Phoenix and Los Angeles as well as New York, Houston and Minneapolis before wrapping up on June 25 in Seattle.
With Johnny Borrell now the only original band member comes a new official press shot of the band with new line-up. Lady Gaga rang in the New Year with a major announcement for her little monsters: “Born This Way,” the highly anticipated follow-up album to her breakthrough debut, “The Fame,” will be released on May 23, 2011. The set’s title track and first single will premiere on Feb. 13. Gaga announced the release dates on Twitter by posting a photo of “Born This Way’s” cheeky artwork with the caption, “THE SONG 2 13 11 THE RECORD 5 23 11.” The provocative image features a pantless (bottomless, really) Gaga facing away from the camera in a suggestive pose, and wearing a jacket with the words “born this way” scrawled on the back. The tattoo on her left thigh, a unicorn with the words “born this way” coiled around its horn, is also visible. “This has to be the happiest + most exciting night of my life,” Gaga wrote just a few hours before the clock struck midnight in her native New York and the announcement was made. “You’ve created this moment. You imagined me. Jillian Michaels Quits ‘Biggest Loser’. Jillian Michaels will leave ‘The Biggest Loser’ after season 11 next year. The tough-as-nails trainer announced on Twitter that she wants to take a year off TV to concentrate on having a family. Michaels left ‘Loser’ during its third season because of concerns about editing but returned the following year. She also joined co-trainer Bob Harper for the Australian version of the show. Adoption looks to be in the near future for Michaels, who has spoken out about her inability to get pregnant. A new ‘Biggest Loser’ trainer has already been chosen and will begin working with contestants next season. Harper hasn’t commented on Michaels’ departure.

Tony Pettinato His original February ad from Wieden & Kennedy, Portland, Ore., won a Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival and generated more than 20 million viral views, according to Procter & Gamble. The brand and Wieden followed that up with nearly 200 customized videos over three days via Twitter. The campaign spawned more than 140 million total YouTube views to date (including parodies) and generated 1.8 billion PR impressions, according to P&G. But has he sold body wash? Undoubtedly, according to P&G, which points to huge sales gains for Old Spice body wash since February, which has led the company to claim men’s brand leadership in the category. Realistically, it’s hard to know how much soap Mr. Mustafa has sold or who leads. Symphony IRI data show Old Spice body-wash sales up 27% to 107% in four-week periods since February. But at typical industry redemption rates, the buy-one-get-one-free and other high-value coupons Old Spice has distributed since February would account for most of the brand’s sales gains and all share gains. James Moorhead, the man (or brand manager) behind the man your man could smell like, 31, isn’t your typical P&G brand manager. Having spent seven years coaching high-school hockey in Cincinnati before moving to Boston in his current role, he’s doing what for most P&G brand managers would be like playing without a goalie — letting his agency make ads without copy testing. Mr. Moorhead has worked with and without copy testing. But he said copy testing wouldn’t have worked for Mr. Mustafa’s ads. For “Responses,” Mr. Moorhead wasn’t even on set, which said was a vote of confidence in Wieden. As for copy testing the original ad, he said: “Imagine ‘The Man Your Man Could Smell Like’ in a storyboard. …. It never would have passed. It really was about the executional magic that Wieden could create.”
R.E.M. reveal new album name. Best-selling rock band R.E.M. have revealed that the title of their 15th studio album will be Collapse Into Now. The album will be released in Spring 2011 by Warner Bros. Records. BBC Radio 6 broke the news on its Twitter feed after R.E.M.’s manager Bertis Downs revealed the title at the In the City conference. R.E.M., which is singer Michael Stipe, guitarist Peter Buck, and bassist Mike Mills, re-teamed with Grammy Award-winning producer Jacknife Lee, who produced the band’s acclaimed previous album Accelerate, to make Collapse Into Now. Lee is also noted for his work on albums by U2, Snow Patrol, The Hives, and indie stalwarts Kasabian, Editors, Aqualung, and Bloc Party. R.E.M. and Lee recorded the album in New Orleans at the Music Shed and in Berlin at the famed Hansa Studios, where several legendary albums, including David Bowie’s Heroes, U2′s Achtung Baby, and Iggy Pop’s Lust for Life, were made. Additional recording and mixing were done at the venerable Blackbird Studio in Nashville. Collapse Into Now is the follow-up to 2008′s hard-charging Accelerate, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart, topped the Alternative, Rock, Digital, and Internet (physical goods) charts in the U.S., and debuted at No. 1 in Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic. “A Conversation With President Obama” To Air On MTV, BET, CMT. President Barack Obama will host a town hall meeting with 250 young people representing various backgrounds and political views in “A Conversation with President Obama,” a one-hour special airing on MTV, BET, Centric, CMT, mtvU, and Tr3s. During the special, President Obama will field questions from the audience, as well as some being sent in via Twitter, in a wide range of topics that’s sure to include the current job crisis, health care, and more. “A Conversation with President Obama” is a production of MTV News and BET News. It’s set to be hosted by MTV’s Sway Calloway, BET’s April Woodard, and CMT’s Katie Cook. “We know that America’s youth hold strong views about the challenges our country faces as well as their own aspirations for the future,” said Viacom President and CEO Philippe Dauman. “We are honored that the President has chosen to appear on our cable networks to continue his dialogue with the nation’s young people.” The commercial free event is set to air on MTV, BET, Centric, CMT, mtvU, and Tr3s Thursday, October 14th at 4pm ET.
Lady Gaga and Giorgio Armani have formed a multimillion dollar partnership that will involve the legendary designer making the costumes for the leg of the singer’s tour starting in December. The iconic, 76-year-old Italian fashion designer did something unusual and dressed Lady Gaga, known for her adventurism in fashion, in a crystal-encrusted silver hoop dress with orbiting rings for the Grammy Awards. He then started designing costumes for her videos for her – the bondage-style black leather costumes in the racy “Alejandro” video were Armani – and must have evolved into the partnership for Gaga’s tour costumes. Armani seems to be the designer of Gaga’s choice as of late; he designed the black rubberized dress with spikes sticking out which the singer wore to the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles more recently. Armani’s designing deal with the 24-year-old pop star is reportedly an effort by Armani to rejuvenate his business. “A huge company like Giorgio Armani has the duty to always be alert to trends and what appeals to young people,” Roberta Armani, Armani’s niece and head of VIP relations, told our source. “It helped to see how the world is through Lady Gaga, the way she uses Facebook and Twitter.” Although there is still very little information on what the pair’s collaboration will involve, Gaga is the first star that Armani has designed a specific gown for. Celebrities who have previously worn his label have chosen from existing collections. “It wouldn’t be possible to give Gaga a look from the collection because she wears pieces of art. It’s theatrical,” Roberta said.
