MTV VJ Lenay Dunn Honored At TheFrisky.com Party At The Gates. New MTV VJ Lenay Dunn was honored at the Wodka Vodka-sponsored “Celebs to Watch” event. It was hosted by TheFrisky.com and held at The Gates. After living in L.A. from January to July 2009, moving back to her hometown of Fridley, MN, getting married, then moving with her new husband to Nashville in August, she submitted a video and was asked to audition for an MTV2 show. MTV2 did not cast her, but casting directors at MTV saw the video and interviewed her for a new MTV show, which she started hosting in May 2010. Lenay currently hosts the show, called “10 on Top,” a show that follows the top 10 talked about celebrities of the week. The show airs on Saturdays at 11:30 am (ET). She was also filmed in a dozens of MTV short films called “Summer Wraps.” Also at Dunn’s party were “Project Runway” Season 8 outcast Nicholas D’Aurizio who talked to TheFrisky.com Editor-in-Chief Amelia McDonell-Parry that he thought early on that Gretchen Jones would be the winner of the fashion design competition show. “She seemed to be the judges’ favorite from her very first outfit, which wasn’t anything special,” D’Aurizio said. “In my opinion, and in most other people’s, Mondo should have won. First and foremost ‘Project Runway’ is a television show. There were people like Gretchen who were really nice and friendly to everyone while the cameras were on, but as soon as they turned off, those same people were at everyone else’s throat.” “Gretchen was particularly duplicitous in this way,” D’Aurizio added. “And then there was Ivy. At first I thought she’d be one of the nicer ones, but it only took an hour or two of filming for me to realize, ‘Oh, she’s a bitch.’”

“The Hobbit” Production Stays In New Zealand. “The Hobbit” stays in New Zealand. Prime Minister John Key has announced that the negotiation with Warner Bros executives has been successful. The film producers originally threatened to take the filming of the $500 million film project outside the country after acting unions complained of unfair practices. Earlier this week, thousands of New Zealanders protested outside the streets to convince the producers not to take the Peter Jackson flick outside. Key has first met with the Warner Bros. executives, but the meeting ended with no resolution as to the film’s production location. After two days of talk, the filmmakers have now secured an agreement to have the “Lord of the Rings” prequel shot in the country in exchange for additional tax rebates. According to Deadline Hollywood, Warner Bros was granted up to an extra $7.5 million tax rebate for movie, subject to the success of the films. The NZ government will also offset $10 million of Warner Bros’ marketing costs, and it will host one of the world premieres of the “Hobbit” movies. The government and the film company also agreed to work together in a “long-term strategic partnership” to promote the country as both a film production and tourism destination. NZ will be introducing a legislation to clarify the distinction between independent contractors and employees as it relates to the film industry only. The two-part sequel is set to begin production in February.
Disneynature’s “Oceans” Hits Blu-Ray And DVD. This is one you’re not wanting to miss. So clear, so picture-perfect, you would think that you were there in the middle of the ocean, and not sitting on your couch watching this amazing Disneynature showing on Blu-ray. The same company that brings us “Hannah Montana” and Mickey Mouse and crew dip in to different territory this time. Following the huge success of “Earh,” Disneynature’s latest theatrical outing “Oceans” is bringing the great big blue to your living room. Narrated by actor Pierce Brosnan and directed by French filmmaker Jacques Perrin, “Oceans” is now available on both DVD and Blu-ray. Originally released in theaters on Earth Day, “Oceans” became the third highest-grossing nature documentary of all-time, just behind Disneynature’s “Earth” and Warner’s “March of the Penguins.” It was also a critical success, with many of the top critics touting its awe-inspiring imagery. Truly a gem, “Oceans” is simply amazing at times, a truly remarkable and extraordinary journey under the sea that takes the viewer to places we have never seen before. A journey to the Earth’s five major bodies of water, “Oceans” is more than just a documentary filled with the expected commentary of some of the world’s most spectacular settings and creatures. The film has enough comedy, drama and education to fully entertain the entire family and one that can be watched for years to come. Although, as stunning as the film may be, it also carries an important message reminding the viewer that we as humans have an important role to play when it comes to saving the big blue’s most valuable habitats. As short as the film may be (just under 90-minutes), we get to take a look at a slew of sea creatures in their everyday setting with a little peak into their own circle of life. The film hits Blu-ray and DVD in a special combo pack, and with some special features to allow fans to dive deeper in the world of “Oceans.” A Picture-in-Picture “Filmmakers Annotations” track includes director Jacques Perrin and other production team members delivering behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, trivia, on-screen maps and more. A “Living Menu” features an interactive globe with various “hotspots” which, once selected, offers facts or short video about the region. “Disney and Nature: Caring for the World We Share” takes a look at Disney’s conservation efforts, while Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato’s music video for “Make a Wave” for Disney’s Project Green is also included. “Oceans” also features a trailer for Disneynature’s upcoming theatrical release, “African Cats.” “African Cats” will hit theaters on Earth Day 2011.

Universal is changing the trailer for their Vince Vaughn-Kevin James comedy “Dilemma” after it received severe criticism over the use of the word “gay.” In the teaser trailer for the upcoming Ron Howard-directed comedy, Vaughn is speaking to a packed conference room when he hurls the term as an insult, saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, electric cars are so gay.” The trailer got so much buzz that even Anderson Cooper complained to Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show that the film influences people in thinking the term is acceptable. He told the host via satellite, “I was sitting in a movie theater over the weekend and there was a preview of a movie, and in it, the actor said, ‘That’s so gay,’ and I was shocked that not only that they put it in the movie, but that they put that in the preview.” “They thought it was okay to put that in a preview for the movie to get people to go and see it… We’ve got to do something to make those words unacceptable cause those words are hurting kids.” Cooper never identified the name of the film. GLAAD is also speaking out, saying the use of the word “gay” in the film’s teaser was “unnecessary and does nothing more than send a message of intolerance about our community to viewers.” Universal now promises to change the trailer for the film, saying in a statement obtained by Deadline: “The teaser trailer for The Dilemma was not intended to cause anyone discomfort. In light of growing claims that the introduction to the trailer is insensitive, it is being replaced.”
