Katy Perry has treated her mother to a facelift. The ‘California Gurls’ singer splashed out on a skin-tightening operation for her mother Mary Hudson, and her Christian pastor father Keith Hudson is so pleased with the results he has been bragging about how ‘amazing’ his spouse looks. According to The Sun newspaper, the reverend told his congregation at The Way Family Church in Temecula, California: “My daughter, little Katy Perry, bought my wife a facelift. Hallelujah! My Lord, does she look good. It is amazing what they can do. They took 25 years off her. I am serious – it’s amazing. “I don’t know how I am going to handle this. I mean, she doesn’t look like her mother no more, she looks like Katy Perry’s sister. It’s going to be difficult because they’re going to say, ‘Who’s this old man with Katy Perry and her sister?’ ‘ Katy treated her mother to the operation in the run up to her own wedding to British funnyman Russell Brand in September. Before they started dating, the comic was known for his womanising ways but Keith is hopeful he will convert to Christianity and calm down once and for all. He said: “That Russell Brand – he’s a prayer challenge. He is searching for God and that boy is going to get saved. If he’s going to hang around us, he’s going to fall in! He’s hungry for God.” Although they’re just weeks away from their nuptials, Russell and Katy can’t agree on where they will settle down when they become husband and wife. She said in an interview with UK station Capital FM Capital FM radio: ‘We won’t be moving to London anytime soon. I’m sure that Russell wants to keep his roots, he’s English and likes being that dapper man so he’s going to want to keep something here. But right now I’m clinging to California. ‘It’s because I’m a serotonin girl. That’s why I live there. Like my serotonin level would fluctuate if the sun doesn’t come out, my personality doesn’t come out.’
Lewis Hamilton is renting two houses in Los Angeles so he can be near Nicole Scherzinger. The British Formula One driver – who recently reunited with the Pussycat Dolls singer – is renting properties in Melrose Avenue and Park La Brea so they can be together as often as possible, despite their hectic careers. A source said: ‘Lewis is determined to give their relationship another go. It unravelled before because they were never together in the same place, which made seeing each other very complicated.’ Nicole has signed up for ‘Dancing with the Stars’ – where she has been partnered with Cheryl Cole’s friend Derek Hough – and Lewis wants to be able to spend as much time with her as he can while she remains in the show, which is filmed in Los Angeles. The source added to The Sun newspaper: ‘Depending on how well Nicole does in the show, she could be in Los Angeles for months. ‘Lewis likes a bit of variety so he’s opted for two properties, a secluded house in Melrose and a swanky penthouse near his favourite shopping arcade, The Grove.’ Earlier this week, Lewis admitted he and Nicole were determined to make their relationship work this time. The racing champion – who rekindled his romance with the pop beauty after the pair split in early January due to work pressures – said: ‘You make it work, you do all you can, you know? When something is worth it, you do it.”

Kings of Leon went on heavy drink and drugs binges when they first toured the UK. The Sex on Fire rockers first played in Britain six years ago when two members of the band, guitarist Matthew Followill and bassist Jared Followill, were too young to legally consume alcohol in their native America – and admit their partying got out of control. Matthew said: “I didn’t turn 21 till we’d been a band for a few years so coming to England was awesome. We’d play the show and immediately start drinking beer. “In the end I was sick of feeling hungover. I just didn’t eat, ever. That’s cocaine. I’m so glad it’s over. I just feel better. We never touched it again. I try to not even drink that much now.” Singer Caleb Followill, Matthew s cousin, added: “Oh God, ecstasy, man! One night the guys were looking for me – I later found out someone had slipped me some really strong ecstasy. Finally they found me behind a huge speaker. “It was the loudest music ever and I had a huge smile and tears pouring out of my eyes. I was crying and enjoying it at the same time. “When you do drugs you’re thinking, ‘I’m doing this to keep me going, otherwise I’m just going to fall asleep and I’m not going to wake up. When, really, doing drugs is probably going to be the way you fall asleep and don’t wake up.” The band also admit they used to take advantage of groupies and even had fights over who was going to bed the best-looking girl. Drummer Nathan Followill, Caleb and Jared’s brother, said: “One of the perks of being in this band is that 80 per cent of our crowd are girls. We’re super-competitive so after a show, if your girl’s prettier than my girl, I’m going to try to take your girl from you. “We had gotten our first taste of the benefits of the lifestyle, for sure.” Despite their excesses, the Molly’s Chambers rockers insist they have changed their lifestyles and turned their backs on their excessive ways. Caleb told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “When I quit drinking whiskey, I’d say 80 per cent of my anger went away. I still drink wine, though. This life would be much tougher if I didn’t drink.”
Alexandra Burke homesick The ‘X Factor’ winner – who arrived in California two months ago to record her debut album – is so lonely in the US she has flown out her older sister Sheniece to keep her company. A source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “Alexandra is really enjoying putting her album together but doesn’t know many people in Los Angeles. She’s finding the experience a little isolating so was relieved Sheniece agreed to travel over for a visit.” Following her win on the British TV talent show in December, the ‘Hallelujah’ singer signed a £3.5 million record deal in the US. She was snapped up by Epic – an offshoot of Sony – for a five album deal. The 20-year-old star said: “I would love to crack the US. After seeing Coldplay take away the awards at the Grammys I was so inspired.” Alexandra is not the only British star to feel homesick in Los Angeles. It was recently revealed Leona Lewis – who won the ‘X Factor’ in 2006 – is feeling isolated in Hollywood and is finding it hard being separated from her friends and family in the UK, especially boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa. A source said: “Although Lou came out to visit her recently, the long distance is taking its toll. “She has no natural network of friends where she is now and rarely sees her mentor Simon Cowell. His schedule is so busy, the two don’t have much time to meet.”
Mick Jagger and Joss Stone are to record a song together. The Rolling Stones frontman and the soul singer – who first collaborated in 2004 on ‘Lonely Without You’ for the ‘Alfie’ soundtrack – will perform a duet for a new album to coincide with the United Nation’s International Day of Peace on September 21. A source said: “Joss and Mick hit it off when they worked with producer Dave Stewart on the ‘Alfie’ soundtrack, so they were hoping to collaborate again. “When this project was suggested they were keen to get on board, especially considering the glittering cast of other musicians involved.” Mick and Joss have been working with Bob Marley’s sons Damian and Stephen, rapper Nas and ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ soundtrack composer A.R. Rahman. The stars are currently working on the album at a Los Angeles studio, but there have been some disagreements about when recording should take place. Damian prefers to work at night, while Mick would rather record in the morning. The source added to Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “It’s incredibly challenging to get so many figures in the studio at a time that’s agreeable to everyone. “Damian’s a night owl whereas Mick likes to hit the studio in the morning. They eventually reached a compromise where by they will record from 5pm to midnight every day.”
The former Spice Girl announced her engagement to shipping tycoon Fabrizio Politi, 34, shortly after the New Year after a whirlwind romance. But she called it off last week after she ‘woke up one morning and decided she wasn’t the marrying type’. A friend of Halliwell, 36, told the Sun newspaper: “She loved being in a relationship but decided that all she needs is her daughter Bluebell to keep her happy. “Her friends are not surprised – Geri has a track record for getting cold feet.” The friend added that Politi was upset but “totally respects Geri’s wishes”. Halliwell and Politi met at a Florence nightclub in December 2008 and he proposed to her over Christmas. Halliwell has had a string of high-profile relationships which have not lasted long, including romances with former Take That Robbie Williams.
She is mother to three-year-old daughter Bluebell Madonna and the father reportedly is Halliwell’s ex-boyfriend, scriptwriter Sacha Gervasi, although this has never been publicly confirmed.
Goody was diagnosed with cervical cancer in August 2008 Terminally ill reality TV star Jade Goody has been confronted in hospital by a woman leaning over her carrying a hammer, according to her spokesman. Max Clifford said Goody’s husband had left her for a few minutes when the intruder entered her room at the Royal Marsden Hospital in west London. She was not hurt but had been left “very shaken up”, he added. A 41-year-old woman was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon, but was later released, police said. Goody has only weeks to live after her cervical cancer spread to her liver, groin and bowel.
Mr Clifford told BBC Radio 1′s Newsbeat that Goody’s husband, Jack Tweed, had only just left her room at 1500 GMT to get a cup of tea from the hospital canteen when the woman entered. Goody woke to find the intruder leaning over her muttering or praying, he added. She then shouted to nurses who came into her room. “Jade obviously freaked out,” Mr Clifford said. “It’s very distressing, particularly when you are so weak and so vulnerable. “It has made her even keener to try and get home as soon as possible.” He added that security had been stepped up around Goody following the incident. A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that a woman had been taken into custody in west London after she was found to be in possession of a hammer. She was later released from custody and no further action will be taken. A Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust spokesman declined to comment. Goody had been resting after a christening ceremony at the hospital the previous day. Her sons Bobby, five, and Freddy, four, were also christened during what Mr Clifford called a “very short and emotional service”.
MICHAEL JACKSON has called cancer-stricken Jade Goody to offer her words of comfort. The King of Pop rang the terminally-ill reality TV star at her bedside with a message of support. Jade, who appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2007 with Jackson’s brother Jermaine, was said to be “blown away” by Jacko’s call. She is so ill that she is only able to stay awake for a few minutes at a time but managed to muster up the strength for a full conversation with with the pop star. A friend told the Sun newspaper pal she was really excited to speak to Jacko, who was in London last week to announce tour dates at the O2 Arena. They said: ‘He learned of Jade’s suffering and wanted to lend his support and comfort her at this awful time. “When she was told Michael was on the phone her eyes lit up and she mustered all the strength she could to have a chat.’ Jacko also promised her that he would get VIP tickets to his UK shows for her, husband Jack Tweed and her two sons, Bobby, 5 and four-year-old Freddie, this July. When Jade became too tired to speak, Jackson spoke to Tweed, 21, and offered all the help he could. The friend added: ‘He was wishing them both the best and asked if there was anything he could do for them or the family. ‘Jade and Jack were touched. It gave her a real boost and hope that she’ll be alive to watch him perform in the summer.’
The Girls Aloud singer recently befriended the estranged wife of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and would love the chance to portray the former model on the big screen.
She said: “Jo is amazing. She’s my new favorite person. She’s had such an extraordinary life. It’s fascinating. Her stories are unbelievable. They’d make a wicked film.”
The 27-year-old blonde beauty and Jo, 53, have been spotted partying together since meeting at London Fashion Week and danced the night away at a trendy London nightclub on Tuesday (24.02.09).
She explained: “I was out with my boyfriend Tommy and we ended up partying with Jo Wood. She’s always in there with her friends – she is an amazing woman. Then we went back to our house and played Wii bowling. How rock ‘n’ roll can you get?”
Sarah also confessed she is considering permanently switching from music to acting and is thrilled with her latest acting role, in the upcoming BBC drama ‘Freefall’.
Speaking about the show, Sarah said: “I love acting. And I’m so proud of this one. Dominic Savage’s stuff is all about improvisation. It’s so different from what I normally do, which is so rehearsed and prepared. I could really express myself. I can’t wait until my next film and fancy something other-wordly.”

Harding attended Hazel Grove High School and Stockport College, she worked as part of the promotions team for 2 nightclubs in The Grand Central Leisure Park in Stockport. Harding was also a regular singer at Karaoke nights in the Whistling Jig, Puss and Boots pub as well as many others and did some vocals for Project G on some unreleased tracks. Project G was a band for which Harding provided backing vocals, long before Girls Aloud came along. She did some photoshoots for promotion but no album, nor known singles exist. Some tracks that have leaked onto the internet include “Searching” and “Don’t Wanna Be Alone”. Whilst working as a waitress and barmaid in Manchester, she entered the UK talent-search show Popstars: The Rivals.
Harding also entered FHM’s High Street Honeys, the magazine’s national beauty contest, and her pictures appeared in the first Top 100, but she later withdrew, upon achieving success on Popstars. A year later, she was voted one of the Top 30 sexiest women in the world, by readers of the same magazine. In 2005, she entered the same Top 10 at Number 8, slipping to Number 15 in 2006, and to Number 17 in 2007.
In the finale of the “Popstars” show, she was picked as the final member of the five-piece group, Girls Aloud, that formed the female half of the eponymous ‘rivals’. She defeated Javine Hylton for the final place, in a result that provoked a measure of surprise and controversy.
As a member of Girls Aloud, Harding has taken part in many events and TV shows, such as the August 25, 2006 episode of The Friday Night Project. Sarah co-hosted the show with Cheryl Cole and Kimberley Walsh. During her time with the group she has co-written numerous songs, including “Hear Me Out”, which appeared on the group’s second album What Will The Neighbours Say?. Harding’s love-life has been in constant speculation since becoming famous. She met her ex-boyfriend Mikey Green on Popstars: The Rivals, who went on to become a member of the boyband Phixx. After going out for two years, they split up, got back together, and then broke up again. She was also linked to Liverpool F.C. footballer John Arne Riise and the actor Stephen Dorff, a rumour denied by Sarah during a short interview on BBC Radio 1 with JK & Joel on July 13, 2006. From late 2006 to mid-2007, Sarah was in a relationship with Daily Star gossip columnist Joe Mott. She is now dating Tom Crane, whom she met while he was DJ’ing at Mahiki Nightclub in London. He also owns a souvenir stand at Covent Garden market.
On September 10, 2005, Harding was one of the celebrity bridesmaids for Jordan’s wedding to Peter Andre in Berkshire.
Sarah is also friends with Mani from Primal Scream and Oasis singer Liam Gallagher. In the Oasis rockumentary “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down” Liam invites Girls Aloud to a concert during an Oasis photoshoot.
