Burberry is taking fashion to the next level. The fashion house is going to live stream a London catwalk show in 3D to Tokyo, Paris, Dubai and New York. The actual show will be held in London at Chelsea College of Art & Design on February 23 at 4 pm, while fashion editors and VIP guests in the selected cities will be treated with a broadcast in “customized screening spaces.” The 3D show was designed by Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s chief creative officer.
Bailey spoke with WWD about the show, saying, “We are very excited to announce that we are hosting the first ever truly global fashion show? 3D technology will bring our global audience into the London show space allowing them to see the colors and fabrics, to hear the music and to be a part of that moment when it all finally comes together.”
Bailey also went on to say that “this unprecedented event will enable people to experience the energy and atmosphere of this event from around the world.”
To add to the special viewing event, there will also be some behind-the-scenes pre-show footage, backstage footage and red carpet arrivals.
For those of us who won’t be so lucky as to score tickets to the 3D event in the selected cities, fans can check out the show in 2D at live.burberry.com and comment on the new collection in real time on Facebook, Twitter and the company’s website.
