Though Taylor Swift is busy on her own sold-out tour, the 21-year-old country star just can’t say no to a good cause. She’s hitting the stage with the Black Eyed Peas in New York’s Central Park on Thursday night.
Swift will join the Peas for their Concert 4 NYC benefitting the Robin Hood Foundation, which helps battle poverty in New York City. The show is expected to have over 60,000 fans in attendance.
“We are thrilled to have Taylor on board to benefit two very important causes,” Fergie said in a statement. “Not only will she will be an amazing addition to our lineup, she is an incredible inspiration to people of all ages and her music gives a voice to those who feel left behind.”
Other performers set to appear include Debbie Harry, LL Cool J and Natasha Bedingfield, while Whoopi Goldberg and Zach Braff are among the stars also scheduled to make appearances.
The concert is free but tickets are required and are sold out.
Paris Hilton isn’t just getting ready to return to television with the premiere of her new Oxygen series, “The World According to Paris.” She’s also been working on new music, which she says has much more of a dance sound.
Hilton has steadily been working on the follow-up to 2006’s “Paris,” which entered the top 10 on Billboard’s album chart and yielded the #1 dance single “Stars Are Blind,” for years and she says it’ll be out soon.
“I have a recording studio in my house so anytime I have free time, I’m always in the studio writing and working,” Paris Hilton told CNS. “I’ve been working on this album for a really long time so I want it to be perfect.”
Her debut album featured elements of pop, dance, reggae, and even disco, but Hilton says her new album is going to be even more club-ready than the first.
She even named one artist she’d like to collaborate with: David Guetta, the hitmaker behind #1 hits from The Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Rowland, and Flo Rida.
“I recently changed the direction of the album. It was more pop before but now I’m getting rid of a lot of the songs and I’m going into a different direction, which is house music,” Hilton said. “It’s going to be a lot more dance and club. It should be out really soon.”
Out even sooner is her new show, “The World According to Paris,” which premieres on Oxygen Wednesday night at 10/9c.
The Black Eyed Peas star wrote the track ‘Big Fat Bass’ for Britney’s new album ‘Femme Fatale’ and loved working with her because her enthusiasm was infectious.
He said: “I discovered her love for music. I have never seen anyone, like, come alive, full of excitement and giggling and laughing behind the mic.
‘She was like a little kid when she was recording the song and it just brought the whole atmosphere, it changed the whole atmosphere when someone really loves music. So it was great working with her.”
Despite Britney’s enthusiasm, will.i.am said she is also completely professional and didn’t any advice from him.
He added to MTV: “When someone’s excited to go out and just do it, what advice? You don’t need no advice. She is like, ‘When I say on the song, ‘You all better get ready for the kick drum,” she was already anticipating what she was going to do onstage when that beat broke down.
‘Adding that type of perspective, when we were recording it, you don’t need to give nobody like Britney advice.”
Meanwhile, will.i.am and the other members of the Black Eyed Peas ‘ Fergie, Taboo and apl.de.ap ‘ have announced plans to open a school for New York teenagers to learn video and music production through their charitable organisation, The Peapod Foundation.
will.i.am said: “Our passion for music and media was fuelled by many generous people on our road to success. Expanding the network of Peapod Adobe Youth Voices academies enables us to pay it forward, giving more youth the skills and encouragement they need to realise their dreams.”
Josh Duhamel is ‘excited’ about spending some time with his wife Fergie when she begins her break from music. The ‘Meet Me Halfway’ singer has decided to put plans for a second solo LP ‘ the follow-up to 2006′s ‘The Dutchess’ ‘ on hold and have some time away from the pop world and her band the Black Eyed Peas, and the actor can’t wait.
He said: ‘We do want to take some time together and I’m excited to have more time with her, but we always consider the other person when we’re doing something and make sure we’re scheduling enough time to be together. That’s the only way to make it work.”
But the ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ star insists Fergie isn’t only just taking a break for him, she also wants some time for herself.
He added to E! Online: ‘She’s not doing it just because of me. She wants a little time. They’ve been working her like a rented mule for eight years. She wants a little time off.”
Josh, 38, plans to spend his free time with his 36-year-old wife working up a serious sweat ‘ in the gym.
He revealed: ‘Exercise is the one thing we love to do when we’re home. She pushes me and I push her and I think it’s important.”
Speaking about her decision to have a break in 2011 rather than make new music, Fergie said: ”ve got a lot on my plate and this year is more about simplifying and really paying attention to the projects that I have and spending some time with the hubby, you know?”
After being in the pop music game for 13 years, Christina Aguilera is set to perform the National Anthem at the upcoming Super Bowl for the first time in Texas on Feb 6th. While the five-time Grammy-winner and “Burlesque” star will perform the anthem for the first time, she’s no stranger to the Super Bowl stage. The Black Eyed Peas will perform the Super Bowl Halftime Show this year when the Pittsburgh Steelers play the Green Bay Packers at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Aguilera follows country superstar Carrie Underwood who performed the National Anthem at the 2010 Super Bowl event last year. “Dreamgirls” star Jennifer Hudson performed it the year before. Other stars who’ve performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the annual event include Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Mariah Carey, Beyonce Knowles, Billy Joel, and Neil Diamond.

With a jaw-dropping “Glitter in the Air” performance at the Grammys early in the year, Pink kept up her high-flying stunts during her overseas Funhouse Summer Carnival tour which made her the only female artist selling out stadiums this year.
8. Pretty Reckless
However you see her, foul-mouthed brat or teenage provocateur Taylor Momsen, who flashed her 17-year-old breasts to the audience during a Pretty Reckless show earlier this year, has made her and her band seem like Courtney Love Jr. and Hole-lite.
7. Adam Lambert
The “American Idol” almost-winner set out on his first headlining tour this year, giving fans all the glitter, glam, and throaty wailing they could hope for.
The Hayley Williams-fronted rockers set out on a headlining tour in support of last year’s “Brand New Eyes,” which included plenty of cell phone-lit renditions of their hit “The Only Exception.”
Before she was the “Only Girl (In the World),” Rihanna was on her “Last Girl on Earth” tour, performing hits off last year’s “Rated R” and her mega-hit “Umbrella.”
4. The Black Eyed Peas

The Colombian pop princess earned one of the biggest international hits this year with the World Cup anthem “Waka Waka (Time For Africa)” and one of its biggest tours, in support of her latest album “Sale El Sol.”
Robyn released one of the most acclaimed albums of the year with “Body Talk” and her North American outings this year, where she performed singles like “Dancing On My Own” and “Hang With Me” to a throng of sing-along crowds, had Billboard calling her “one of the greatest pop performers of this decade.”
1. Lady Gaga
The “Bad Romance” singer kicked off the year with one leg of her “Monster Ball Tour” and is closing out 2010 with yet another. Continuing on through 2011, the tour will finally wrap in May after 200 performances. Performing hits off “The Fame,” “The Fame Monster,” and soon to be amended with material off her upcoming “Born This Way,” Lady Gaga continues to mesmerize her little monsters with one of the biggest tours of the year, enough to be voted as the #1 Live Act of 2010.
Rihanna Debuts At #1 On First Ever Billboard Social 50 Chart. The increasing popularity of music on YouTube, Facebook, and other social network sites has spawned a brand new chart on Billboard debuting this week, the Social 50. Rihanna is the first artist to top the chart, followed closely by Justin Bieber.
Joining charts like the Billboard Hot 100, which currently factors online streaming into its rankings, the Social 50 chart tallies artist popularity using weekly song plays, artist page views, additions fans and followers, and more on sites like Facebook, Twitter, iLike, YouTube, and MySpace. Billboard will use the social music tracking service Next Big Sound. Rihanna enters at #1 on the chart’s debut week, followed by Justin Bieber at #2 and Eminem at #3. Lady Gaga is at #4, while Nicki Minaj, who just released her debut album, rounds out the top 5. “The Social 50 provides a weekly snapshot of the artists that music fans engage with the most in the social arena, which in today’s world is a significant validation of their investment in an act,” says Billboard Chart Director, Silvio Pietroluongo. “We continue to adapt the way we chart the changing landscape of music,” says Billboard Editorial Director, Bill Werde. “The Social 50 is yet another step in the evolution of Billboard and an important response to our changing times.” “The volume of online activity that top artists now receive is too big to ignore,” says Next Big Sound CEO, Alex White. “We are thrilled that social music activity now receives the same emphasis as the music charts for which Billboard is synonymous.” Elsewhere on the chart, which is available in full on Billboard.com, are Michael Jackson at #12, the cast of “Glee” at #25, Girl Talk at #36, and Demi Lovato at #47.

Will.I.Am said of the title: ‘The Beginning is symbolic of adopting new technologies, such as augmented reality, 3D, and 360 video. Much like all of their major hits, it’ll be built around a sample from a previously successful and market-tested hit. Fergie quickly realised her husband Josh Duhamel was ‘The One’. The Black Eyed Peas singer had made a list of things she was looking for in man before she met Josh in September 2004, but her love for the ‘Transformers’ star soon made her forget about her prior expectations. She told Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine: “At that stage of my life, I don’t think I’d have thought that about anybody. “I’d made my lists of qualities that I wanted, and you can’t find out if someone has those in a week. “It was learning what he was made of that made me fall in love with him.”The 35-year-old star also revealed Josh, 37, enjoyed getting his hands on her extra curves after she had to gain 17lbs for her role in musical movie ‘Nine’. She added: ‘When I came home from filming, he was excited. He enjoys having both – the extra meat to grab when it’s there and the tight stomach when that’s there. He always gives me compliments.”
