Isle of Wight Festival line-up complete. The stunning line-up for this year’s Isle of Wight Festival is now complete. The final additions are rock powerhouses’ O.A.R, band du jour Detroit Social Club, the uber cool Local Natives and crowd pleasers Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel. Also joining them are NME Award winners The Big Pink, critic’s favourite Bombay Bicycle Club, one to watch Semi Precious Weapons (who are currently touring with Lady Gaga) and veteran punk rockers The Members.
This means that between 11th – 13th June, over fifty of the hottest names in music will be making their way, by plane, train, boat or bus to Seaclose Park on the Isle of Wight to give festival goers a weekend they won’t forget and start the 2010 festival season in style. This year’s awesome line-up includes international superstars Paul McCartney, Jay-Z, The Strokes, Blondie, Pink and Orbital, superb homegrown talent Florence + The Machine, Editors, Paloma Faith, La Roux and Marina and the Diamonds, firm festival favourite’s Biffy Clyro, Crowded House and James as well as a plethora of hotly tipped artists including The Courteeners, The Coronas, Noah and the Whale and I Blame Coco
In keeping with the festival’s reputation for putting together a truly eclectic weekend, featuring more musical genres than you could shake a stick at, this year Spandau Ballet, Suzi Quatro, The Saturdays and Daisy Dares You are also set to perform.
This year the festival will also be celebrating the 40th anniversary of Jimi Hendrix’s legendary performance at the Isle of Wight Festival, which was his last major performance before he died. In his honour the ultimate Hendrix tribute act, Are You Experienced?, will open the weekend over in the Big Top with a special performance just for campers on Thursday night.
It’s not all about the music however, this year as World Cup fever sweeps the nation, another festival first will take place over in the Field of Dreams which will host special screenings of all the key matches.

The track will be released in January, and has been remixed by Carl Craig, Tim Goldsworthy from DFA and Simian Mobile Disco. Hell first met Ferry in 2006, when Hell visited Ferry’s studio in west London. Initially the pair discussed Hell remixing an old Roxy Music track, but decided to work on an unreleased Ferry solo track instead. “It’s always a pleasure to work with people from that genre, who follow a singular groove,” said Ferry of working with someone from the world of dance music. The video for the track is directed by Jo Apps, sometime vocalist with The Big Pink and sister of Patrick Wolf, while La Roux’s stylist Nova Dando was also involved.

This year will also see a brand new Guardian Tea Room Tent joining the myriad delights of Field Day. Perfectly positioned to cast your eyes over the ever-amusing goings on in Village Mentality, the Guardian Tea Room Tent will offer a touch of refinement to proceedings with lashings of freshly brewed tea and home-made cakes to help you recharge your batteries whilst perusing the paper.
MySpace today announces that the MySpace Bus will feature at this year’s Gaymers Camden Crawl on Saturday 25th April; giving music fans the chance to get up close and personal with some of the UK’s hottest acts. Crawlers will have the chance to check out some of the UK’s groundbreaking acts in the most unique stage setting at the festival. The Bus, which is an established stage at UK festivals for both new and well-known acts, will be hosting an exclusive meeting for fans with British rock band Kasabian, ahead of their performance at the Roundhouse that night. Other top DJs, artists and bands dropping by the Bus throughout the day include; Little Boots, Mumford & Sons, Frankmusik, Tommy Sparks, VV Brown, The Big Pink, and many more. This is the third year MySpace has been at the Crawl. Last year fans flocked to a secret gig with Enter Shikari and in 2007 fans had the chance to be part of an exclusive Babyshambles set. Gaymers Camden Crawl is a mile-long stretch from Chalk Farm to Mornington Crescent taking in 150 artists across 40 venues over two days (April 24th and 25th) which will play host to 15,000 music fans.
