Conan O’Brien’s Long-Awaited Return to Late-Night Television Attracts Younger Viewers. Conan O’Brien’s new TBS talk show was a hit with young viewers Monday night, and it’s reported that the audience had a median age of 30 years old. This late night TV talk show is definitely not “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno.
“Conan,” which featured guests Seth Rogen, Lea Michele and Jack White, was watched by 2,451,000 adults ages 18 to 34; 3,285,000 adults 18-49; and 4,155,000 viewers. O’Brien has a strong following among younger viewers, and social media has proven to be a key way for him to connect with his fans. “Conan’s audience has been very vocal online, and he clearly made a smooth transition from Twitter to TBS,” said Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks, in a statement. “Conan delivered an extraordinary audience and stands out as the youngest late-night talk show on television.” Tonight, “Conan’s” second episode will feature Tom Hanks, Jack McBrayer and Soundgarden as guests. Upcoming guests include Jon Hamm of “Mad Men,” Fistful of Mercy and “Paper Heart” actress Charlyne Yi on Wednesday; and actor Michael Cera, “Modern Family’s” Julie Bowen and Canadian comedian Jon Dore on Thursday.

George Lopez Denies Getting “Lenoed”
George Lopez Denies Getting “Lenoed”. George Lopez wants the world to know he is not getting “Lenoed.” The “Lopez Tonight” host told Larry King on his show that he assured upcoming TBS star Conan O’Brien that he is 100 percent alright with the moving of his show to an hour later for him. O’Brien surprised everyone with the news that instead of coming to Fox network as expected, he will be starring in his own show on TBS this November. That means Lopez, who has a late night show on the cable network, will have to make way for Coco and move his “Lopez Tonight” to the midnight timeslot. But while the move appears like what Jay Leno and NBC originally planned for O’Brien when the peacock network told the redhead funnyman to move the “Tonight Show” after Leno’s timeslot, Lopez said that was not the case. The Latino host said on CNN’s “Larry King Live” on Tuesday that the whole approach was very classy. TBS president Steve Koonin called him to say that they will approach O’Brien with a deal about the late night time but he also said that if they don’t receive Lopez’s “blessing this deal does not go forward.”Lopez, believing it would be great to have Coco at the 11 p.m. lead-in for his show, agreed. That’s the only time Koonin approached O’Brien with the idea. O’Brien was hesitant to accept the offer because he did not want to do to Lopez what was done to him at NBC. However, Lopez called him to assure him that he is totally good with the idea. He said, “What he was concerned with was that he wasn’t going to do to me what was done to him at NBC. That was his biggest concern.” But “I’m not getting Lenoed,” Lopez assured everybody. “I welcome Conan. I think moving to midnight – hey going to work an hour later it’s a dream come true, and the pay’s the same.” O’Brien is currently on the road for his comedy tour. He will be starting to work for TBS in November.
