Toploader join Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival
An exciting batch of new additions have been confirmed for the Award-winning Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival to add to its already diverse and bulging line-up. Best known for their global hit ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’ and their hugely successful debut album ‘Onka’s Big Moka’, the recently reformed Toploader have been confirmed for an appearance at the festival this August. Glasgow fight pop stars and one of the UK’s hottest bands of the moment Dananananaykroyd make their first appearance at Belladrum fresh from the release of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Hey Everyone’. The mesmerising Official Secrets Act will also be bringing their highly infectious brand of indie/new wave/pop to the table. With a song already featuring on Vodaphone adverts in the southern hemisphere and a support slot with Elton John this summer, we are delighted to announce the addition of Pearl and the Puppets who are sure to be one of 2009’s breakthrough acts. Also confirmed for this year is Blue Roses whose new single ‘I am Leaving’ is currently Radio 2’s record of the week. With a tasty shank of old school ska and dancehall, a generous twist of indie, a light splash of reggae, and garnished with a juicy slice of electro pop the infectious Kid British join us along with Newcastle Alternative pop darlings Little Comets. They join Headliners Editors and Ocean Colour Scene. Other acts already confirmed include, The Saw Doctors and Shed Seven, both making their first appearances at Belladrum, and the latter making Belladrum their only UK festival appearance of the summer, as well as quirky indie artists British Sea Power, Seth Lakeman, Alabama 3, Sons & Daughters, and Squeeze frontman Glen Tilbrook with his band The Fluffers. London indie folk outfit Noah and the Whale make their first Highland appearance, along with Edinburgh’ finest Broken Records, folk rock in the shape of Babel, rising alternative stars Healthy Minds Collapse, sweet pop music the way it should be from Magistrates, two great Nashville based Singer-Songwriters Tommy Womack and Phil Lee, Surf Folk Rock act Sparrow and the Workshop, the wonderful Hatcham Social and Jo Hamilton who recently released her gorgeous album Gown, Glasgow indie artists The Phantom Band, Levellers’ favourites 3 Daft Monkeys, festival veterans Edward II, The Wallbirds, Kid Carpet, Sam Isaac, The Lost Brothers and reformed local heroes Scooty & The Skyhooks are all set to appear. Peatbog Faeries, Lau and Treacherous Orchestra are in the vanguard of the Celtic representation at the event. Transglobal Underground will hot things up on the main stage, teenage sensation Tommy Reilly follows up on his recent hugely successful debut tour and winning of Orange Unsigned, whilst gypsy punk specialists De Votchka are over from the US for a one-off Scottish festival appearance.
