Florida man arrested in celebrity email hackings

Following a yearlong investigation, FBI officials on Wednesday identified the man they say hacked into the email accounts of nearly 50 celebrities, including those of Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera and Mila Kunis.

The suspect, Christopher Chaney, an unemployed 35-year-old from Jacksonville, FL, apparently didn’t do it for the money, FBI officials say. Chaney allegedly worked from his home computer to mine data from magazines and websites, including posts on Twitter and Facebook to get passwords. The name of a dog, a favorite movie, an old address, or a sister’s name all aided his efforts.

Officials said that once Chaney obtained passwords, he could then gain access to the stars’ address books, photos and other files. He used an email forwarding program that automatically duplicated any messages the star received into his account.

Cheney allegedly began his hacking in November 2010 when he tapped into Christina Aguilera’s email and later posted pictures of the singer in a revealing photo. In December, Chaney managed to hack Mila Kunis’ accounts and stole several pictures. That same month, Chaney tapped into Scarlett Johansson’s accounts that contained several nude pictures. The photos soon circulated on several celebrity websites.

Cheney was arrested this week in Jacksonville and faces up to 121 years in prison if found guilty on all counts.

The Proposal” co-stars Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds’ rumored budding romance is hurting the actor’s soon-to-be ex-wife Scarlett Johansson. The “Iron Man 2″ actress is said to be “devastated” that the “Green Lantern” star has moved on so fast.

Bullock, who split from motorcycle builder husband Jesse James after learning of his affairs, was seen celebrating New Year’s with Reynolds in Texas, prompting rumors that the two are dating each other.

The actress’ rep has already denied the rumors, but RadarOnline.com insisted that she is “very much dating” Reynolds. The two apparently even made a couple of trips to her Wyoming getaway.

And even though they are not a couple yet, Reynold’s estranged wife is not taking the news well.

A friend of Johansson told Popeater, “Scarlett is a deeply private person, who during her entire marriage was only ever seen and photographed with her husband a handful of times. Now, less than a month after they split that fool has gone and got himself photographed [with Bullock] on New Year’s Eve of all days.”

“Of course she is devastated.”

And while it is not suggested that the Academy Award-winning actress has anything to do with the breakup of Reynolds and Johansson’s marriage, it was still painful for the younger actress to watch her husband move on quickly and to know that Bullock is on his side.

The source continued, “Even if they are not a couple yet, this is very awkward for Scarlett. She too thinks of Sandy as a friend and hates the thought that Sandy is on team Ryan after the breakup, that is if she isn’t already his girlfriend.”

The 34-year-old actor had been previously honored by the magazine in 2009 and 2008, but this year is the first time the star, who suits up for “The Green Lantern” next year, has taken the title and the cover. “The most difficult part is going to be organically working this title into a conversation with random strangers,” Reynolds joked to People magazine. It also didn’t hurt that Reynolds has been showing off his abs for years in films like “The Proposal,” “The Amityville Horror,” and “Blade: Trinity.” If that’s not enough, he’s also covered many a Men’s Health magazine. “My body naturally wants to look like Dick Van Dyke,” he jokes. “When I stop training, I turn into a skin-colored whisper.” He also expects home life with his wife of two years, actress Scarlett Johansson, to change. “Now it’s going to be, ‘Sexiest man, take out the garbage.’ That does sound better,” he said. Also scoring Sexiest Man honors this year are Jon Hamm, Jon Bon Jovi, Joe Manganiello of “True Blood,” and “Twilight” star Kellan Lutz.
