“Fame: Lady Gaga” And “Female Force: Betty White” To Hit Newsstands.

“Fame: Lady Gaga” And “Female Force: Betty White” To Hit Newsstands.  Bluewater is publishing two separate comic books starring Lady Gaga and Betty White based on their career paths. “Fame: Lady Gaga” and “Female Force: Betty White” are scheduled to hit newsstands, comic bookstores and online venues on Wednesday, January 5. These special editions will also be available through several online venues including Amazon.com and the Barnes and Noble and Borders online stores. “Fame: Lady Gaga” follows the unknown Stefani Germanotta (Gaga’s real name) as she crafts a glam-rock persona and begins her climb up the pop music charts with monster hits like “Poker Face” and “Just Dance.” The issue will also showcase Gaga in some of her more unusual and extraordinary fashion choices as well as the replicas of costumes from her legendary performances.   Veteran actress and comedian Betty White represents a near polar opposite from Gaga. Portrayed in her own biography title, “Female Force: Betty White” readers and fans can follow her 60-year career, which even includes the unprecedented and successful grassroots Facebook campaign to get her to host “Saturday Night Live.” Bluewater first published the “Female Force” titles in 2008 as a broad examination of strong and influential women who actively shape modern history and culture. In past issues, the monthly series has featured Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Margaret Thatcher, JK Rowling and Sarah Palin.

Betty White has starred in dozens of television shows including “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” “The Golden Girls” and most recently “Hot In Cleveland.” She has won seven Emmy awards.

“On its face, neither should have anything in common with the other, but once you read their stories, you see the common thread,” said Bluewater president Darren Davis said of Gaga and White, “They are strong, influential women who have endured personal and professional challenges and have taken the marketing of their brand to whole new levels.”

The “Fame” series was launched earlier in 2010 as a companion piece to the successful “Female Force” and “Political Power” biography titles. The comic allows Bluewater to delve into the celebrity culture and understand how a person rises to fame, deals with the newfound celebrity and continue to produce in the public eye. That includes actors, sports figures, recording artists and royals.

Part of the proceeds from “Female Force: Betty White” will be donated to White’s favorite charity, GLAZA (Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association). White was named chairman of the 65,000 member nonprofit dedicated to nurturing wildlife and the well being of animals in September.

In the upcoming months the company will soon release comic autobiographies of Glenn Beck, Angelina Jolie, Britney Spears, Beyonce and The Black Eyed Peas.

Kate Gosselin And The Kids Fly To Australia In First Class. Kate Gosselin and her brood of 8 has flown to Australia to film their show. The “Kate Plus 8″ stars jetted Down Under in first class without their dad and former TLC reality show co-star Jon Gosselin.  According to our source, Kate will also be traveling to New Zealand, and will be accompanied by her bodyguard Steve Nield.   TLC is understood to be paying for the trip since they will be filming episodes of the show while the 35-year-old mom and her kids are taking a vacation. Our source told that Jon and his girlfriend Ellen Ross are left in the states, saying, “Kate and the kids flew out just before midnight last night in what will be a staggered trip to Australia and New Zealand.”  “Obviously, Jon was informed of the excursion and the kids will not see their father again until mid-January when they return to America with their mom. They will be filming for ‘Kate Plus 8′ and the kids are excited about visiting both Australia and New Zealand.” Earlier this month, Kate and her kids guest starred in the TLC show “Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” wherein the Pennsylvania natives traveled to the Last Frontier and camped in the wild with the former governor and her family. Although the Gosselin kids were clearly enjoying their camping adventure, they had to cut their trip short after their whining mother threatened to cut them off from the family if they didn’t leave with her. Hopefully, since Australia is in summer season this time of the year, Kate won’t have any reason to whine and complain and force the kids to fly to the U.S. while they are still enjoying the trip.
