ABC Announces “Dancing With The Stars” Lineup. What could a Pussycat doll, a former Baywatch babe and a reality television mom all have in common? All three will be dancing their way in hopes of winning the Mirror Ball trophy on the upcoming season of ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars.” The alphabet network revealed their lineup Monday night during the season finale of “The Bachelor” in hopes of gearing up some anticipation for everyone’s favorite dance reality show. Pamela Anderson, singer Nicole Scherzinger and TLC star Kate Gosselin are set to display their fancy footwork in front of millions of viewers every week. In addition, Twitter-happy NFL footballer Chad Ochocinco, “Beverly Hills 90210″ alumni and vixen Shannen Doherty and Olympic golden boy Evan Lysacek will all be appearing on the dancefloor in hopes of winning some extended face time on both the small screen and weekly covers on newsstands. One person who won’t be returning this season is Samantha Harris, who announced last month that she will be stepping down from her hosting duties alongside Tom Bergeron. Instead, former Bachelorette Melissa Rycroft will be replacing Harris as the new co-host.
The full lineup for the 10th season of DWTS:
Pamela Anderson, actress and former “Baywatch” Babe

Dancing with the Stars is all set to eliminate yet another celebrity and professional dancer from the competition tonight. Last night, the eight remaining couples jumped in the jive or sizzled in the rumba. It was a night of upsets, sort of, with Lil’ Kim and Derek taking control of the top spot of the judges’ leaderboard. All the dancers’ fates are now in the hands of America. Stay with me to find out which celebrities will find themselves in the bottom two, and which one will be leaving the competition tonight.
Live! From Hollywood! This is Dancing with the Stars!
Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris announce that the dance that the judges want to see again from last night is Lil’ Kim and Derek’s jive. Woohoo, this is the second time these two were asked to do the encore. I’m so impressed with how well they are doing this competition. Also, I love Lil’ Kim’s sense of humor in doing a jailbird-themed dance, since she herself was once a jailbird (and also, apparently, Marc Jacobs’ pen pal). Now we get a quick recap of last night’s performances but you can just read my recap here. But tonight, each couple’s ballroom life is on the line, and one couple will soon have to say good-bye. After the commercial break, the 2009 Broadway revival cast of West Side Story perform “America.” I’m going to out myself as a big geek, but I love musical theater! I find this kind of performance so much more interesting and fun to watch than some of the random Macy’s Stars of Dance performances that we get. Not that the Stars of Dance people aren’t talented, but I just don’t have a whole lot of context to appreciate them as much as I appreciate West Side Story. Backstage, Samantha Harris is with Lil’ Kim, Melissa Rycroft, Ty Murry and Steve-O. Lil’ Kim says that she’s going to work as hard as she can to stay at the top spot of the leaderboard, but she won’t take anything for granted. Ty isn’t too surprised that he has slipped in scores because he hasn’t been doing well, and Steve-O is very gracious to his fans.
Here’s the judges’ leaderboard after last night’s performances:
1. Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough – 28
2. Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani – 27
3. Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke – 26
3. Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas – 26
5. Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough – 23
6. Lawrence Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska – 22
7. Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower – 18
8. Steve-O and Lacey Schwimmer – 16 (see photo above)
Oh, I’m mistaken. There is apparently no dance-off tonight. It’ll be the usual business of combining the judges’ scores with the audience votes. Tom Bergeron calls Lil’ Kim and Derek, and Lawrence and Edyta down to the stage to call out the first results of the evening. I guess this is kind of a new way of announcing the results. Lil’ Kim and Derek are safe. And, so are Lawrence and Edyta! Another musical guest act. Performing the current number one country song in the nation, “Here Comes Goodbye,” that famous country trio Rascal Flatts takes the stage, accompanied by Julianne Hough and Tony Dovolani. See, this is the kind of dancing that I love to watch, with tons of huge lifts and throws. Tony is basically just throwing her around, but it looks so beautiful. Good thing she ways like 80 pounds. I also like barefoot dancing, I think. It’s not traditional, I know, but it’s so much more intimate when they are not wearing like four-inch heels. Julianne and Tony are so great! Samantha and Tom make an intro to a reel about the costume design process. Normally, the professional dancer in the partnership takes the lead in coming up with a costume idea and collaborates with the head designer, Randall Christenson. But next week, the celebrity will take the lead. I’m so excited. They are all going to look AWFUL. Ha! Lawrence tells Randall that he thinks Edyta is allergic to clothing. His mama watches the show, so he’s going to make her cover up some more. Also, Steve-O gives the green light for a cheetah-print banana hammock. That would be interesting to see, but I hope to God that we wont’ have to! Shawn wants to put Mark in a onesie, hee. She should be careful, though, because we don’t want him to get another boner.
There are six more couples who are awaiting their fates. Tom calls Shawn and Mark, and Melissa and Tony down to the stage. Shawn and Mark will definitely be back next week. Melissa and Tony will also be back too. Samantha is backstage with Lil’ Kim, Derek, Edyta and Lawrence. She asks the stars about what kind of costumes they’ll be designing. Lil’ Kim says that she can put Derek in a paper bag and he’ll still be hot. Samantha asks Lawrence why on earth he would want to cover Edyta up, and he mumbles something about wanting his mama to be proud of him.The Macy’s Stars of Dance performance is a cabaret routine featuring Carmen Electra, and choreographed by original Pussycat Doll member Lindsley Allen. I’m so glad that Robin Antin isn’t anywhere near here because I’m afraid of her. She looks like a drag queen version of Skeletor. But Carmen Electra is cute in her little blue sparkly outfit. She runs up to playfully tug on Len’s tie and then table dance on the judges’ table. Rascal Flatts is back again. This time, they are singing a cover of the Beatles song, “Revolution.” They are joined by two pairs of professional dancers, Mark Ballas and Chelsie Hightower, and two more who I couldn’t identify. In the segment that wins the award for Most Useless Filler of the evening, a so-called “body language expert” gives us the rundown of how the celebrities are doing based on their facial and body tics. I’m trying not to tune out, but it’s hard, people. This whole segment is kind of like, “Let’s say some really obvious statements and pass them off as insightful fact.” OK, in no particular order, the next couple who will be coming back next week is Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke. Oops, haha. Someone is falling asleep at the controls. Samantha leads us out into the commercial, but the cameras are still rolling, making everyone look around awkwardly. Whoops! There are three couples left who still don’t know whether they will come back next week: Ty and Chelsie, Steve-O and Lacey, and Chuck and Julianne. The next couple who is safe is Chuck and Julianne. (Doh! They were my pick to be eliminated. Oh well.) The two couples remaining are not necessarily in the bottom two. And now, the final results: the couple with the lowest combined total and therefore leaving right now is Steve-O and Lacey Schwimmer. Oh, sad! I really got to like Steve-O these past six weeks. Tom graciously assures Steve-O that he charmed everyone on the show. Haha! Steve-O wants to thank Lacey for her patience because he tends to “manstruate” occasionally, his word.
The Children’s Place has teamed up with the Books For Kids Foundation to host an online auction of messenger bags with handmade art by your favorite celebrities! Celebs to participate in the charity auction include: “Gossip Girl”’s Chace Crawford, Kim Kardashian, Debra Messing, ‘Twilight’’s Taylor Lautner, Samantha Harris, Sophia Bush, Tina Fey and many more. All proceeds from the auction will go to Books for Kids to help them build libraries, donate books and partner with literacy programs. “As a big sister, I know how important it is to encourage reading. I was happy to decorate a bag to benefit Books for Kids knowing what a huge difference such a small effort can make,” Kim says of the cause. Get your celebrity messenger bag on April 14 when the online auction goes up on www.ebay.com/thechildrensplace.com.
It’s the first elimination of the season on Dancing with the Stars. For the first time in the show’s history, the bottom two will have to dance off against one another to determine who will stay and who will have to hang up their dancing shoes.
Who’s it gonna be? Will Steve and Karina somehow miraculously stay on? Will fan favorites Melissa and Tony be in danger of going home? We’ll find out soon enough, and we’ll also be entertained by musical performances by Jewel and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Whatever happens, you’ll find it all right here in my live blog. Stay with me!
The live results show opens with a great performance by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, with six of our professional dancers swing dancing along. I love swing! How fun!
Now, it’s time for an update about Steve-O’s condition. He is backstage with Samantha Harris, and he explains that at the last minute, he decided to put in an ill-advised front flip, against Lacey’s advice. He had a different, safer move, but he wanted to do the flip. Well, he’s back, and nothing is broken, and if he survives tonight’s elimination, then he’ll be dancing next week.
The judges’ scores and audience votes have all been tallied from the first two weeks of performances. So far, here are the standings in the judges’ leaderboard:
1. Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke – 51
2. Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani – 49
3. Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas – 47
4. Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough – 44
5. Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough – 40
6. Denise Richards and Maksim Chmerkovskiy – 39
7. David Alan Grier and Kym Johnson – 36
7. Holly Madison and Dmitry Chaplin – 36
7. Lawrence Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska – 36
10. Belinda Carlisle and Jonathan Roberts – 35
11. Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower – 34
12. Steve-O and Lacey Schwimmer – 31
13. Steve Wozniak and Karina Smirnoff – 30
So far, Gilles, Melissa, Shawn and Lil’ Kim seem safe, way at the top of the leaderboard, but because of the unpredictable voting nature of Dancing with the Stars, you really never know who’s going to go. Steve-O and Steve Wozniak occupy the two lowest rungs of the leaderboard, but they’ve both got some intense fans out there.
Each of the couples is prepared to perform one of their first two dances in case any of them land in the bottom two for the dance off.
