Kanye West Cancels “Today Show” Performance. Kanye West has been on Twitter quite a bit lately. First, to denounce Matt Lauer and NBC’s “The Today Show” after a recent appearance. Now, he announced that he’s canceling his “Today Show” performance originally scheduled for later this month. West was slated to take the stage on Friday, November 26th to perform tracks from his upcoming new album, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.” He’s still scheduled to perform the day before during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. But after his much-discussed “Today Show” appearance, where West expressed his frustration with the show for playing audio of his infamous Taylor Swift speech interruption during his interview, he pulled the plug on what was to be a “live concert on the plaza.” “I’m not performing on the Today Show for obvious reasons,” Kanye tweeted. “I’m so happy the world got to see just a small piece of ‘the set up.’…I blatantly said I’m not performing on a tweet and to everyone around me and the next day they still announced a performance. “Do you guys see what I’m saying now?” he continued. Sounds like “Paranoid” isn’t just a song off “808s & Heartbreaks.” But Kanye insists he isn’t angry at Lauer or the show. “I don’t hate Matt Lauer,” he added. “We don’t promote hate. That’s the whole point!!! I promote love and truth!”…All positive energy… all smiles.”
MTV Cancels Reality Show “The City”. It looks like Whitney Port is out of a job. The former “The Hills” reality star who made waves with her spin-off in “The City,” has been canceled by MTV. A spokesperson for the Music channel says: “’The City’ will not be returning to MTV for season three.” “Whitney has been a part of our family for many years and we wish her and the cast the best, and hope to collaborate with them again.” The announcement doesn’t come as a surprise for Port, as she herself hinted that the show would end during an interview with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show. “As of right now it doesn’t really look like we’re doing it anymore,” she said. “The City” followed Port as she moved from the west coast to New York City in pursuit of a fashion career while in the big city. This doesn’t look like it’s the end of Port’s career in the fashion world, though. She told Seacrest, “It’s OK – one door closes and another opens,” adding that she has several new projects lined up for the future as well
Bravo Looking For Possible Replacement For New Jersey Housewife Teresa Giudice. Cash-strapped housewife Teresa Giudice is on the verge of getting kicked out of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” The producers of the Bravo show won’t give in to her salary demands. According to our source, Teresa, who is $11 million in debt with husband Joe, wants to have her salary doubled. In addition to the pay increase, she also demanded to get a cut of the DVD and merchandise sales of the show and the freedom to make more paid appearances. Our source told us, “If she’s not treated better by Bravo, she’s ready to walk away.” But the problem is, Bravo isn’t showing signs of giving in to her demands. Tthe network is already losing patience with the table-flipping housewife. Producers are now said to be looking at possible replacements.
Aside from the show’s villainous Danielle Staub, all the other women are slated to return for next season.
Sally Field Opens Up About Her Life As An Empty Nester On “The Nate Berkus Show” Academy Award-winning actress Sally Field has opened up to interior designer Nate Berkus about her life as an empty nester. The “Brothers and Sisters” star also talked about why Jamie Lee Curtis won’t be able to help her with organizing her home. On Monday’s episode of “The Nate Berkus Show,” Field, 63, said that her home design style is very much like “Sybil at work,” referring to her Emmy Award-winning role in the 1976 made-for-television miniseries “Sybil.” She also opened up about her new role as an empty-nester after her kids left the house. She told Berkus, “Empty nesters, what happens is the kids go and you are the receptacle [of all the crap].” “‘Mother you didn’t throw my sports equipment away did you?’ I don’t want your sports equipment. I haven’t wanted it for years and years and years! I just don’t want it.” When Berkus suggested that she needs Jamie Lee Curtis to come over to her house because the other actress is a “terror with organization,” Field replied, “Well she doesn’t care about any of my stuff!” “Jamie Lee is down to wearing like one color, isn’t she? And she has one hair-do for the rest of her life. And I love her for it! I admire her for it! Every day I look at myself and say, I’ve got to change.” Field’s interview with Berkus will air on Monday’s episode.
Patti Stanger Wants To Set Up Betty White On “Millionaire Matchmaker”. Patti Stanger is back with a new season of her show, “The Millionaire Matchmaker.” Set in New York City, she’s been busy working with NYC millionaires, but she’d love to work with other single celebrities, especially Betty White. Responding to White’s recent request for a man, Stanger told our source who she’d set the “Golden Girls” actress up with. “Twilight” actor Robert Pattinson, who reportedly called White “one of the sexiest women alive,” was her first choice. Stanger also suggested 84-year-old actor and comedian Mel Brooks, telling our source, “Betty and Mel would laugh all the way to heaven!” She added Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner — if he dated anyone his own age — and former “The Price is Right” host Bob Barker would be good matches for White. “(Barker and White) are both animal lovers, huge animal lovers. They would bond over that.” “The Millionaire Matchmaker” premieres on Bravo today, and the cast moved from sunny California to the fast-paced Big Apple. Back in March, the New York Daily News reported that Stanger hired Vinnie Potestivo Entertainment to cast her show’s fourth season, and a source close to the company said that a plethora of “society types, hedge-fund guys and even a couple of hot-spot club owners” have applied to get in on the action. Watch the show’s premiere today to see what the upcoming season of “Matchmaker” holds.
Manolo Blahnik Shows Off Sketching Skills On “The Martha Stewart” Show. Manolo Blahnik, shoe designer of “Sex and the City” fame, was mentioned – and appeared – on another TV show. The founder of his self-named, high-end shoe brand was a guest on “The Martha Stewart Show” last Friday. Blahnik reportedly hates the term “muse,” but it seemed as though host Martha Stewart was his on the show. He demonstrated his design process of sketching a one-of-a-kind shoe in front of a live studio audience on canvas with paint. After the spontaneous sketch, Stewart asked him what the inspiration was behind the sketch of a brown high heel. “You. And the show and food,” he said. Blahnik’s food inspiration came in the form of the milkshakes Stewart and he made, reportedly an obsession of Blahnik’s, when he and Martha created two different shakes, Coconut-Chocolate and Salted Caramel Pecan. The shoe designer also talked about growing up and how he got his start in the shoe business. He started sketching shoes when he was about six or seven years old, he told Stewart, and his mother also made her own shoes. “During the war, my mommy didn’t get the things that she liked so she made herself (espadrilles),” Blahnik said.”So she was very, very sort of crafty in that way.” He also told Stewart the engineering behind making his shoes. “(Engineering) takes a long time. Shoes are different than dresses in a sense that shoes takes a lot of months to do technically. To get the heel correct.” “I can imagine,” Stewart responded. “Just figuring out how the heel can bear the weight of a 130-pound woman, right? It’s amazing.”
Derek Hough Talks “Demolition Dancing” On “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” is getting its dance on this week with an all-new episode. “Dancing With the Stars” regular players Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, Tony Dolovani, and Chelsie Hightower, join in on the action to add some movement to an already moving experience. Derek, Mark, Tony, and Chelsie are dancing with the Arboleda family, whose patriarch established the “Move to the Groove” program to fight childhood obesity and is now used in various schools around Wisconsin. While the Arboleda’s worked hard to keep other families healthy, they were compromising their own with their 70-year-old home. “What made we want to do it in the first place was seeing how fantastic it is to see an amazing family who do so much for the community but don’t really get anything back,” Derek Hough told our source. In come Ty Pennington, Xzibit, Michael Maloney, and Paige Hemmis. But how did the “Dancing With the Stars” team really get things moving? “I can’t say my dancing necessarily helped, although we did do a fun, kind-of 80’s montage on demolition day,” Hough said. That’s right. Hough and company partake in a “dancing demolition,” where the dancers get down while the house goes down. Sounds like must see television to me. Along with getting the Arboleda’s into their new home, the crew worked with them to take their award-winning dance program on the road, exposing it to even more schools than the three it’s currently used in. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” is usually watched best with tissues in hand. But how did Hough, who usually expresses himself on the dance floor, deal with the emotional experience at hand? “To see their life change is just phenomenal,” Hough said. “To be a part of it in person and to be a part of the process from when they first find out to when they walk around and see it, it was a phenomenal experience.” The special “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” featuring the stars of “Dancing With the Stars” airs today on ABC.

“Supernanny” Premiere Takes On The Show’s Most Troubled Teen. “Supernanny” on ABC premieres on Friday, Nov. 5, and apparently, it features one of the most troubled teens the show has ever seen. A blended family in Glen Ellyn, IL, don’t know how to handle their children, especially the oldest teenager. The Atkinson family sounds like it has potential to be a happy family that lives ever after – Jennifer and John Atkinson married four years ago, blending together Jennifer’s daughters from a previous marriage, Amanda, 14, and Abbey, 13, and John shares custody of his 10-year-old daughter Julia. The couple have two children of their own, Reese, 4, and Maeve, 2 and 1/2. But there are definitely some troubles within the family – the oldest, Amanda, treats Jennifer terribly. She openly defies her and even goes so far as to tell her mother she wishes she was dead. In addition, little Reese has tremendous separation anxiety whenever John leaves the house. She actually endangers herself by running towards the street after him when he leaves the house. Supernanny Jo observes that the parents are coddling the children, being inconsistent about rules and parenting the children differently from each other. This episode kicks off the seventh season of “Supernanny,” and hopefully, it will end like other episodes of the show – with well-behaved children and less anxious and stressed parents
Heidi Klum Hosting New Lifetime Unscripted Kids Series. Supermodel Heidi Klum is hosting another reality series. But she won’t be judging wannabe fashion designers this time. Instead, she will be dealing with little kids in the tentatively titled “Seriously Funny Kids.” Lifetime Television has ordered 20 half-hour episodes of the new show, which will be in the same vein as the former show “Kids Say the Darndest Things.” The show will see the mother of four catwalk beauty “interacting with children and bringing out the hilarious and often insightful things they say.” Klum said, “Someone once said never work with children and animals… so I decided to drop the animals and stick with the kids. Naptime, playtime and snack time are my favorites, so is it any wonder that kids and I get along so well?” “I have four children under the age of six, and to be honest, sometimes I enjoy them more than adults. They’re uncensored, unpredictable and absolutely hilarious. The kids will be the absolute stars of this show.” The show is slated to premiere in 2011.

Longtime Conan O’Brien Sidekick Andy Richter Joining New TBS Show. Conan O’Brien’s return to late night will bring another familiar face. Longtime sidekick Andy Richter has joined forces with Coco for his upcoming TBS late night show. Richter had been with O’Brien since his “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” premiered in 1993 until 2000. He was also in “The Tonight Show” when O’Brien briefly hosted the show, and on the road show “The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television” tour. And now that his pal is transferring to the cable channel, Richter is officially joining him on “Conan.” He said, “I’m thrilled to be going back to work with Conan, and very excited to start a whole new venture on TBS. However, I am mostly looking forward to getting out of the house again.” O’Brien added, “This decision was made without my authority. I will get to the bottom of this.” “Conan” will premiere on TBZ on November 8 at 11 p.m.
