In response to fans’ overwhelming demand, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band and The Meadowlands have announced fourth and fifth shows for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at Giants Stadium. These shows will take place Thursday, October 8 and Friday, October 9. The latter date will be the final concert at Giants Stadium. The concerts on September 30, October 2, and October 3 sold out briskly. In a cover story on stands now, Q Magazine called a Springsteen concert “the greatest show on earth.” Tickets for these dates go on sale Monday, June 8 at noon Eastern via Ticketmaster. The band — comprised of vocalist/guitarist Brian Fallon, bassist Alex Levine, drummer Benny Horowitz, and guitarist Alex Rosamila — began establishing a loyal hometown crowd after forming in 2005, and their soulful punk rock melodies attracted wider attention upon the release of their full-length debut, Sink or Swim, which droped in May 2007 via the local imprint XOXO Records. Although rough around the edges, the album presented plenty of energetic, sing-along songs that garnered accolades from punk zines, blogs, and fans alike. Norway’s Hove festival is proud to announce that The Killers (US) are now confirmed to headline this year’s lineup. The Las Vegas quartet will play Hove on Tuesday 23rd of June, and it is the second time in three years the band visits the festival.

Quoted in Q Magazine, lead singer Brandon Flowers picked Hove 2007 as his best ever festival experience , and described his meeting with the Norwegian summer as “mind-blowing” and “incredible moving”.

The Killers issued a statement on their web page saying:

“The Killers are pleased to announce a headline performance at Hove 09 in Norway. We look forward to seeing you there on Tuesday 23rd of June. ”

Hove Festival, now a part of Festival Republic (the organizers behind Glastonbury, Leeds an Reading and Latitude), takes place on the island of Tromøya on the southern coast of Norway. Headliners the last two years include Jay Z, Beck, Amy Winehouse, Arcade Fire, Kaiser Chiefs, Queens of The Stone Age, Slayer and of course The Killers.
