Get Ready for The Truths!

Get Ready for The Truths!
Get Ready for The Truths! The 29th of September will see the British alternative rock band The Truths releasing the debut album Above All… internationally on Aardvark Records. With an initial promotional music video for the song Everybody’s Crying Inside racking up thousands of views online and the single Miracle Drug’s addition to an ever increasing number of radio playlists – The Truths look set to put British rock music at its most visceral and emotional, back on the map . The band teamed up with the legendary producer Hugh Jones, whose credits include The Charlatans, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Bluetones and Gene. They also worked with respected producer/engineer Dare Mason, who has worked with the likes of Prince, Placebo, Tommy Tokyo and System 7. The album itself shows both the band’s chemistry as players and their ability to craft memorable and meaningful music. Also with front man Anthony Neale’s powerful vocal delivery and charismatic stage presence, the music will take you on an unforgettable emotional rollercoaster. The later is important since the songs were written by Anthony but developed by the band as a whole during live performance and touring – stretching and and re-configuring them into what has been described as ‘a sexy, aggressive wall of sound’. The album’s twelve tracks pretty much cover it all, dealing with life, love, relationships, rebellion and fighting for what you believe in. The songs range from arena sized anthems (Miracle Drug, Triptych, Against Perfection, Jumpcut and Hit The Streets) tempered by the intimate, almost ballad-like songs (Everybody’s Crying Inside, Moth to a Flame, Fear is the Key and Strangers). Pixies have pulled out of their first ever show in Israel

Pixies pull Israel gig.
Pixies pull Israel gig. Pixies have pulled out of their first ever show in Israel citing ‘events beyond our control’ as the reason for the cancellation. The band was due to headline the Pic.Nic Festival in Tel Aviv on this Wednesday June 9, Lineup ; Placebo, G.S.S (Gorillaz Sound System), Editors, Klaxons, Carusella, Hank & Cupcakes. While the band has not publicly started the cancellation was in protest to the raid on the Gaza-bound aid flotilla, it is known that there were sent letters from human rights activists urging them to cancel the show because of Israel’s most recent attack. Last month, Elvis Costello cancelled his tour of Israel. On his website he wrote: “Then there are occasions when merely having your name added to a concert schedule may be interpreted as a political act that resonates more than anything that might be sung and it may be assumed that one has no mind for the suffering of the innocent. “I must believe that the audience for the coming concerts would have contained many people who question the policies of their government on settlement and deplore conditions that visit intimidation, humiliation or much worse on Palestinian civilians in the name of national security. “I am also keenly aware of the sensitivity of these themes in the wake of so many despicable acts of violence perpetrated in the name of liberation. “It is a matter of instinct and conscience. “I cannot imagine receiving another invitation to perform in Israel, which is a matter of regret, but I can imagine a better time when I would not be writing this. “With the hope for peace and understanding. Elvis Costello
