Klaxons return with long-awaited second album

Klaxons return with long-awaited second album.  Prize-winning nu-rave Brits Klaxons prepare for the release of their second album.  More than three years after their debut Myths Of The Near Future, Klaxons will release their follow-up album Surfing The Void on 23 August 2010 through Polydor. Myths Of The Near Future won a swag of awards in 2007, including the UK’s esteemed Mercury Prize and NME’s Best Album, and ushered in the widely loved and equally widely reviled psychedelic dance punk genre ‘nu rave’. Years later, Klaxons look almost prophetic, preparing a populace for groups like MGMT, Ratatat and Yeasayer with their flamboyant, trippy electronica and glittered costumery. In November 2009 the band began working with Ross Robinson after a falling out with Myths producer James Ford.  They finished Surfing The Void in February and showcased the gutsy, electro-prog song ‘Flashover’ on BBC Radio 1 in May. The first official single, ‘Echoes’, is due for release on August 10. Klaxons are currently on a pre-release tour through Europe, which extends to a post-release double-header at Leeds and Reading Festivals in late-August.
