Madonna announces world tour dates
Madonna will embark on a world tour this year. Following her much talked about Super Bowl performance on Sunday, the Queen of Pop’s team officially revealed the dates of the globe-spanning 2012 series of shows this morning. The 52-year-old will play the opening concert in Tel Aviv, Israel, and cover close to 90 dates. ‘Madonna is having a huge party and everyone’s invited! The Madonna 2012 WorldTour begins May 29th 2012 in Tel Aviv, Israel, it was officially announced by Live Nation Entertainment, the tour’s international promoter,’ Madonna’s PR team said in a statement. ‘The shows will include arenas, stadiums and special outdoor sites including the Plains of Abraham in Quebec and a return visit to South America and Australia where she has not performed in 20 years. The tour will stop in 26 European cities including London, Edinburgh, Paris, Milan and Berlin.’ The announcement of the international superstar’s tour follows an extraordinary week for the legendary musician. Not only did she wow with her halftime performance at one of America’s biggest sporting events,
Madonna also release the first single from her highly anticipated upcoming album.
Pop stars Britney Spears and Rihanna tweeted their excitement about Madonna’s new material.
‘Madonna – amazing performance last night! LUV you,’ Britney wrote on her profile.
‘MDNA era>>>>>>>>>>>>>I’m here for it tbh! Madonna referencing herself is the ultimate F**K YOU! Hehehe (sic),’ Rihanna added.
Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet tour in 2008 proved that the music icon still draws in the crowds as she sold out arenas worldwide, grossing a total of $408 million according to Billboard Boxscore.
‘Madonna’s track record as a world class entertainer and touring artist speaks for itself. Her artistry, talent and creative productions get bigger and better with each tour and Madonna 2012 will be no exception. We are thrilled to have her back on the road and know her fans feel the same,’ Arthur Fogel, CEO Live Nation Entertainment Global Touring and Madonna tour promoter, said.

Madonna ‘working with Minaj’
Madonna’s new single will reportedly feature both M.I.A and Nicki Minaj.
The pop icon has apparently lined up some heavy female talent to work with her on her new record.
Sources have told website MadonnaTribe.com that nine tracks for the new album have been completed and the first single will feature both English rapper/singer M.I.A. and hip-hop star Nicki.
Few details have been released about the LP and it is as yet untitled.
However it is known that it will be produced by William Orbit, who worked with Madonna on her hit single Ray of Light and it will have a pop-dance sound.
The album will be released in spring 2012 and will follow her 2008 record Hard Candy.
Australian sister DJ-duo NERVO (Liv and Mim) are also rumoured to be working on the release.
The pair toured with Britney Spears this summer and are well known for writing some of the hottest pop tracks in the business.
So far the dup have penned singles for Ke$ha, David Guetta and Nicole Scherzinger, and they are hoping to add Madonna to the list.
‘t would be amazing. Madonna is iconic,” Liv told MTV News. “It would be an absolute career high! That one, you know, it’s another one we’ll see if the stars align. But she’s expressed interest in a song of ours and she’s working with William Orbit, who’s an incredible producer, and who she’s worked with in the past.’
NERVO have a lot to thank William for. The girls revealed that he pushed their song for them and presented it to the lady herself.
‘He actually was the one who pitched her the song of ours ‘ pitched it to Madonna ‘ and fingers crossed! Now that we’ve spoken about it, of course, it’s not going to happen,’ Liv joked.
Producer Paul Oakenfold says Madonna is “easy” to collaborate with

Paul Oakenfold
Music producer and British deejay Paul Oakenfold says Madonna, who is currently working on her 12th studio album, is “easy” to collaborate with and “works tirelessly in the studio.”
Oakenfold and the singer, who turned 53 on Tuesday, joined forces to create her 2009 “Celebration” single and told altsounds.com that she was anything but a diva to record with.
“Madonna was without doubt one of the best artists I have ever worked with. She had so many fantastic ideas and really took her music seriously.
“You can tell that with Madonna, everything is about the music. She’s a global name but still works tirelessly in the studio, puts on her best possible live gigs and puts 100 percent into everything she does. She’s really grounded too and easy to work with.”
In June, Madonna’s manager Guy Oseary confirmed on Twitter that the singer hadn’t decided which producer she wanted to work with for her new album.
“Madonna goes into the recording studio next month to begin work on new album,” Oseary said. “She has a good idea of which producers she will be working with… lots of questions about what kind of music it will be – stay tuned.”
While it is not confirmed whether the 47-year-old music mixer will reunite with the “Ray of Light” hitmaker on the new project, she beckoned for new collaborators late last year on her Facebook page.
“Its official! I need to move. I need to sweat. I need to make new music! Music I can dance to. I’m on the lookout for the maddest, sickest, most badass people to collaborate with. I’m just saying.”
Oakenfold has opened for Madonna during her “Confessions” tour in 2006 and “Sticky & Sweet” tour in 2008.
