YB Band to Perform in US Rock Fest

Posted in: festivals by newsdesk on June 16, 2024

Yoon Do-hyun Band (YB) has been invited to perform this summer on the Vans Warped Tour, a top American rock festival, Daeum Entertainment announced Monday. This is the first time that a South Korean band will participate in the popular event that mixes rock music and extreme sports. The four-member combo will perform alongside popular American artists such as No Doubt, Limp Bizkit, Eminem, Black Eyed Peas, My Chemical Romance and Green Day. The festival usually runs for two to three months and artists tend to join the tour for a few dates at a time. YB will appear in seven shows in Washington, Oregon and California from Aug. 15 to 23. The appearance on the well-known festival could help launch a longer-term career in the United States for the band, David Choi of Originology, YB’s American agency for the tour, was quoted as saying in a press release. “With the Warped Tour as a starting point we’re looking into various plans,’’ he said, adding that the band may release a single. Front man and vocalist Yoon and his band have eight albums under their belt, and rose to superstardom here with their gigs during the 2002 FIFA Korea-Japan World Cup. The documentary “On the Road, Two’’ followed the band on its 2005 European tour, and created a stir at the Pusan (Busan) International Film Festival. The band plans to shoot another road movie about their experience in the U.S.

DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL 2009

Posted in: fashion by newsdesk on June 7, 2024

download-festivalrtvFrom 12 Jun 2024 - 14 Jun 2024 The UK’s biggest, loudest, distortion-fuelled rock and metal festival returns to Donington Park for three more days of hard and heavy axe-wielding action. With a taste for the biggest and most influential names in the heavy rock scene, Download Festival has attracted sets from KISS, Metallica, Guns ‘N Roses, Iron Maiden and The Prodigy in recent years and fans can expect more big names this time around. The site underwent a revamp last year and it now houses two outdoor stages and a tent as well as an extreme sports bar, five-a-side football pitch, market, merchandise stands and chill-out area Kidney Woods. Download 2009 will offer bespoke camping over the weekend. AGreenerFestival say this about the festival: Download won the ‘most improved’ festival in the 2007 Greener Festival Awards and organisers Live Nation built on this in 2008 with travel planning and carbon offsetting offered to the audience. A new artist briefing booklet that explained the festival’s environmental work was given to performers who were encouraged to improve their own carbon footprint with handy hints and tips. The deposit system for recycling introduced in 2007 was continued and audience recycling in the campsite was encouraged and further promoted.

Featuring Gavin Butler and Sean Smith on vocals, James Davies and Matthew Davies on guitars, Rhys Lewis on bass and Gareth Lawrence on drums, the Blackout came together in 2003; they cut a three-song demo EP, Pull No Punches, in 2004 and within two years they became a name to be reckoned with on the UK club circuit. InMe’s frontman heads out on solo tour

Posted in: Biography, Gigs & Tickets by newsdesk on March 5, 2025

Experimental acoustic offerings from InMe’s charismatic frontman Dave McPherson as he heads out alone on a UK tour. Presswerk invites you to the showcasing events in Liverpool and Manchester this month. Since 1996 Dave McPherson has fronted melodic metallers InMe. A natural singer-songwriter from Brentwood, Essex, he first picked up a guitar at the age of 12 and immediately started penning songs.

McPherson has crafted his art of stage presence through experience and developed his vocals into the unique style InMe fans know and love. Dave sings from the heart whilst adding a little venom and humour into the mix to suit his personality.

Literally one man and his guitar, the stripped down solo shows provide the basis for a very intimate setting and personal experience.

More about Inme.
InMe formed in 1996 as “Drowned” and played several local venues in Essex, getting their first interviews and airplay on Brentwood-based station Phoenix FM. They signed with MFN in 2001 and changed their name to “InMe”.

InMe’s first single, UnderDose was released in July 2002 and entered the UK charts at number 66. This was followed by the single Firefly released in September 2002. Crushed Like Fruit released in February 2003 reached number 25 in the UK charts. Their debut album, Overgrown Eden was released in January 2003 and entered the UK album charts at number 15. In April 2003 they released Neptune and in May 2004 Faster The Chasewhich was to be the last release from the MFN label, but also the first release from their second album White Butterfly which was to be released in June 2005.

They went from playing venues as small as the London Barfly to London Astoria within a short time where they gained a bigger and bigger fanbase, they played big festivals such as the main stages at Reading and Download 2003 and headlined Game On 2003. After parting with MFN during the labels takeover to Sony they remained without a label for some time until the band eventually signed to V2 Records, and founded their own imprint label, Pandora’s Box Records.

Otherside was the next single to be released but only as a download single. 7 Weeks was the bands next “instore” single, being released in July 2005. So You Know was released soon after in October 2005, it reached number 33 in the UK singles chart. The bands last release was another download only EP in December 2005, a double A side of Safe In A Room and White Butterfly, this included some live tracks from their set at Download 2005.

InMe have performed many live tours in 2005, starting again from The Barfly. They felt it was important to rebuild their fanbase, after a long period away they performed a few intimate gigs up and down the country for their loyal fans. They played the Download Festival where they recieved a fantastic response from the crowd. They are a fantastic live band, who have supported many top bands over 2003 to the present day, bands include Feeder, Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Staind, Puddle Of Mudd and Soil.

In July 2006 InMe parted with original member Joe Morgan and promptly got in long-time friend and musician Greg McPherson on bass and backing vocal duties. Bringing a more technical edge to the bands sound has already made InMe a more sonically vicious machine. The fact that Greg is also Daves younger brother has made the closeness of the band greater than ever and has instilled a new drive and passion into the 3 piece. Expect some seriously ambitious new music soon.

Faith No More in Download line up

Posted in: festivals by newsdesk on March 4, 2025

Faith No More split up in 1998 and announced their return last week A newly reformed Faith No More have been confirmed as the third headliners at this year’s Download festival. The Donington Park event, which takes place between 12 and 14 June, will be the only UK tour date for the band after 11 years apart. They will join Def Leppard and Slipknot on the Download bill. The band said in a statement that they had the “enthusiasm to not only revisit our past but possibly add something to the present.” Other acts on the line up include The Prodigy, Korn, Pendulum, Marilyn Manson and Limp Bizkit.

Live Nation VP of Promotions Andy Copping said: “Faith No More were the band that started the whole alternative music scene. Rumours and requests “To have them play for the first time in eleven years exclusively at Download is amazing!”

Speaking about their recent reunion, the band added: “During the entire 10 years that have passed since our decision to break up we’ve experienced constant rumours and requests from fans and promoters alike. The music still sounds good, and we are beginning to appreciate the fact that we might have actually done something right

Faith No More “What’s changed is that this year, for the first time, we’ve all decided to sit down together and talk about it. “And what we’ve discovered is that time has afforded us enough distance to look back on our years together through a clearer lens and made us realize that through all the hard work, the music still sounds good, and we are beginning to appreciate the fact that we might have actually done something right.” Faith No More came to prominence in the UK when third album Angel Dust went to number two in the charts back in 1992.

Follow-up King For a Day… Fool For a Lifetime reached number five three years later.
