Beck’s takes its ongoing collaboration with cutting edge artists to a new level this year as Ladyhawke and Hard-Fi are invited to redesign the iconic Beck’s label. Beck’s has a heritage in art dating back more than 20 years, championing the artists of tomorrow and giving support to new creativity in the boldest way possible, handing over the aesthetic control of the brand label. Others to work on Beck’s labels in the past include Gilbert & George, Sam Taylor-Wood and Tatsuo Miyajima. Titled ‘Music Inspires Art’ the project will see two designs from the music artists appear on Beck’s bottles, launching in late summer. At this stage only early concept drawings have been released, but these indicate that the new Beck’s Art Labels are set to be as raw, creative and thought provoking as previous art labels. Hard-Fi are known for their iconic album art and have been inspired by the their own covers to create something for the Beck’s label and Ladyhawke has taken inspiration from her own music, a song called Magic. The original Isle Of Wight Festival will forever be etched in musical history after it housed Jimi Hendrix’s last ever performance, attracted the largest ever UK festival crowd and led to any future festivals being banned from the island after nearly half a million hippies turned the 1970 site into a chaotic free-for-all. However, since it was re-ignited in 2002, the festival has forged a new identity that differs from its predecessors. Big names like The Rolling Stones and The Police honour the spirits of greats like Dylan and The Doors as some 60,000 fans annually cross the Solent for the three-day bash. With one main stage and a big top the festival is predominantly about the music and a varied line-up means there is often something for everyone with The Cribs, Amy Winehouse and Sugababes performing recently. Onsite there is a funfair as well as a selection of food and drink stalls. Camping is available from the Thursday

The Hop Farm Festival which is held at the Hop Farm Country Park, Kent for two days from Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July is run by Vince Power, who founded Mean Fiddler (now Festival Republic) before selling it to Live Nation and MCD.
The festival was held as a one day festival last year with one stage and headlined by Neil Young. The day before the site was used by The Mighty Boosh Festival, also run by Power.
