Katy Perry was ‘trying to keep her marriage alive.’
The singer is currently promoting her fly-on-the-wall documentary Part of Me 3D. It was produced from over 300 hours of film footage shot during her 2011 California Dreams world tour.
Katy’s 14-month marriage with Russell Brand broke down towards the end of her performances. Before the pair split Katy was unwilling to go more than two weeks without seeing Russell.
Striking a balance was important to the singer.
‘Being in love is a dream, but the reality is not like the movies,’ she revealed in the movie. ‘There”s a lot more compromise and sacrifice. I”m trying to keep my marriage alive.’
Later in December when Russell filed for a divorce a make-up free and upset Katy divulged to the camera her thoughts on the life-altering event.
‘The truth is I”m a romantic and I believed in the fairy tale. I did everything I could but it still failed,’ she shared. ‘The dream of being in love is a lot different than the reality of making it work. I”ve got a second chance at a brilliant life.’

Robyn was ‘going for it’ on her most recent promo, because she wanted to feel ‘real’.
The 32-year-old Swedish singer, who has supported US songstress Katy Perry on her California Dreams Tour, released the last album of her trilogy Body Talk, in November of last year, with lead single Indestructible.
The second single to be released from the record was Call Your Girlfriend, and the star says she worked hard on the music video for the track.
‘We decided to do in one take, it worked out. We chose between three takes, we chose the one that had the energy people get when they go to a show,’ she revealed in an interview with BBC Radio One.
‘ was going for it, you have to. If it doesn’t feel real nobody’s gonna wanna watch it.’
Robyn likes to mix improvised routines into her structured promos. The platinum-haired songstress, who won a Swedish Grammis award for Best Live Act in 2008, says her promo for Call Your Girlfriend was a combination of the two.
‘t was a mixture of freestyle and choreographed together,’ she added.

Bruno Mars is up for four awards, including Video Of the Year for ‘Grenade’.
He’s up against Adele’s ‘Rolling In The Deep’, Beastie Boys’ ‘Make Some Noise’, Katy Perry’s ‘Firework’ and the disturbing video for ‘Yonkers’ by Tyler The Creator.
Other acts who scored nominations include Justin Bieber, Foster The People, Lil Wayne, 30 Seconds to Mars, Pitbull, Chris Brown and Cee-Lo Green.
The MTV Video Music Awards will be dished out in a ceremony at LA’s Nokia Theatre on August 28.

The ‘Firework’ singer is on her ‘California Dreams’ world tour and before stage time she always gets together with her stage crew to say a prayer to make the show go well.
She explained to Entertainment Weekly magazine: “I have this little box of prayers, but they’re very small, simple one-line prayers, and I pull them out and read them out loud, and everybody either agrees or disagrees with them, and then we put our hands in a pile and dedicate the show to something funny or stupid.”
While on the English leg of the tour she dedicated one show to folklore hero Robin Hood ‘ renown for robbing from the rich and giving to the poor – in his hometown.
She added: “When we were in Nottingham, we dedicated the show to Robin Hood.”
Katy also said she gets so used to doing shows, she has trouble adjusting to normal life and doing things for herself, because everything is usually taken care of by her tour manager.
She said: “You get so used to having transportation or a hotel room, and it becomes, ‘Do I eat food now? How do I get to the movie theatre?’ I’m a toddler. When I’m left at the airport to go home, everything stops functioning for me.”
The 26-year-old singer has revealed that her ample chest led to her classmates ridiculing her and referring to her by a slang term for a bra, but now her buxom figure receives compliments.
Tweeting about her school years she wrote: “#Inmiddleschool they called me “over the shoulder boulder holder” now they call me “hot”
The ‘Firework’ hitmaker ‘ the daughter of Christian pastors – also admitted she had “c**p” lunches but no one ever wanted to trade and give her their more interesting foodstuffs.
She tweeted: “I had such c**p(healthy) brown paper bag lunches that I couldn’t trade ANYTHING. Had carrot sticks NO dip.
Although Katy ‘ who is married to actor and comedian Russell Brand – was teased for having large breasts as a teenager, she has revealed in the past that she prayed throughout her childhood that she would grow up to have a big bust.
She said: “I remember really vividly kneeling by my bed as a nine year old, saying my prayers and asking God to give me boobs that were so big that if I laid on my back I wouldn’t be able to see my feet.
“Eventually that request was granted. A bit of divine intervention displays the power of prayer!”
Katy Perry has filed a lawsuit against an Australian magazine for putting her marriage in jeopardy by claiming she had an affair with a record producer. NW magazine published an article last month, alleging the “Fireworks” singer had an intimate relationship with producer Benny Blanco.
The article claimed that Perry had an affair with Blanco after she exchanged I Do’s with British comedian Russell Brand.
The 26-year-old singer launched the suit at the Victoria Supreme Court against the magazine’s publisher, ACP Magazines, saying the article was entirely invented.
Her writ, obtained by the Daily Mail, reads: “By reason of the publication of the article, the plaintiff (Perry) has been gravely injured in her reputation and feelings (and) has suffered distress, embarrassment and humiliation.”
She cited several inaccuracies in the report, including quoting a “friend” named Angela Summers and another source called Marlon David. Perry says she doesn’t know those persons.
She alleged NW did not check the story with her and it refused to apologize “although it was clearly inaccurate.”
Perry is seeking damages and aggravated damages.

What do Justin Bieber and John Lennon have in common? Well, not much, other than that they’re both the top online entertainment searches by kids. According to Norton Online Family, the top searched item for kids online is current teen pop phenomenon Justin Bieber. Now, that makes sense, with the teen titan sporting millions of Twitter followers and constantly hawking new albums, toys, and even a 3D film.
But somehow at #2 is legendary Beatles frontman John Lennon, who passed away long before most kids with access to a computer were born.
Now we’re sure the Beatles might be skewering a little younger than usual. Their entire back catalog was added to iTunes recently, whose biggest customers are probably tweens and teens with plenty of extra cash.
But according to Norton Online Family, apparently kids are more interested in John Lennon then say Lady Gaga, Katy Perry or Rihanna. Was there a mandatory nationwide report due on him?
The research, based on 20 million anonymous search-engine queries from kids in 20 countries, found that more than 75% of entertainment searches made by kids online were for songs or musicians.
Other than Bieber, Lennon, and Lady Gaga, other most searched queries by kids included “Dynamite,” “Waka Waka,” and “Teenage Dream.”

Her Star Is Born co-star Kris Kristofferson will reportedly introduce her on stage.

Neil Portnow, president and chief executive of the Recording Academy, said: “We’re thrilled, delighted, excited and very much looking forward to Mick doing his debut on the Grammy stage.
“It’s extraordinary to many of us that the fact is, this will be the first time; he has never performed on the Grammy stage.”
The 67-year-old rocker will perform as part of the ceremony’s annual tribute, ‘In Memoriam’, to members of the music community who have passed away since the last Grammy Awards.
Mick will join the likes of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Britney Spears – who will be opening the ceremony – and indie group Arcade Fire, all of whom have recently confirmed they will be performing at the event.
Meanwhile, Gwyneth Paltrow is to sing alongside soul star Cee Lo Green and The Muppets for an expected edited version of Cee Lo’s mega-hit ‘F**k You’.
