The British boyband are huge fans of the ‘Country Strong’ actress and budding singer and loved performances she gave alongside Cee Lo Green and Babyface so much they want her to work on a track for their new album.
Singer Aston Merrygold said: ‘She could be the lead girl on a track. It would be brilliant.’
His bandmate, Marvin Humes, added: ‘She was brilliant on ‘Glee’ and wicked with Babyface too. And with Cee Lo Green.’
As well as working with Gwyneth, the boyband ‘ currently preparing for the release of their 3D movie ‘Eyes Wide Open’ – also hope to follow in the footsteps of fellow boy band Take That, who appear on the soundtrack to new movie ‘X-Men: First class’.
JB joked: ‘We’d like to do something similar one day. I’d like to do it for a film like ‘Gladiator’ but the other boys prefer a rom-com.’
Marvin added: ‘We’re all ladies men so yeah, definitely for a rom-com.’
JLS and Take That will both perform at the National Movie Awards, held at London’s Wembley Arena tonight (11.05.11), which Gwyneth is also set to attend.
The ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ hitmakers are currently in Los Angeles working on a new record and say initial sessions have proved particularly fruitful. Band member Jonathan ‘JB’ Gill said: ‘t’s going really well.’
His bandmate Oritse Williams added: ‘t’s off to a good start. We’ve written around 16 tracks so far.’
The group – which also includes Aston Merrygold and Marvin Humes ‘ have previously told of their plans to learn instruments for their new album.
Marvin, 25, said: “We all want to play our own instruments. We want to take the band forward.
“Take That inspired us. We’ve already decided what we’re playing – I’m playing drums and Oritse is on guitar.”
Jonathan added: “I used to play the piano and I’m going to take it up again. I feel like I’ve lost touch with it and I want to be able to play it on stage as well as on future albums.”
The band is keen to stay together as a group and have ruled out any of them going solo at this point in their career.
Aston said: ‘We’re new to this game as a group. It feels like we’ve been here for a little while but we’re still new.’
Jonathan added: ‘Before the group we were all doing solo things and that didn’t work.
We’re strong and unified and that won’t change.’
Hailing from Essex and Cambridge, Twenty Twenty are lead singer and guitarist Sam Halliday, his brother bassist Jack Halliday and drummer Sonny Watson-Lang. The band formed in early 2009 after Sonny agreed to play drums with the Halliday brothers.
Since then the trio have steadily created an incredible buzz prior to their major label signing. Honing their craft playing live shows with the likes of JLS, McFly, Selena Gomez and The Sugababes and touring the UK on their own headline sold-out tours throughout 2010, they amassed a huge fan base along the way.
Their independently released ‘Get Down Live With Twenty Twenty’ DVD sensationally reached No.4 in the UK’s music DVD charts, behind only the likes of U2 and Michael Jackson.
Now with major label support in the shape of Geffen, Twenty Twenty will release their new single ‘Love To Life’ on 17th April followed by a mini album in late April. Written by the band and produced by Julian Emery (McFly, Simple Plan, Lissie), ‘Love To Life’ is an infectious cocktail of rock and pop featuring an indelible melody, an anthemic sing-along chorus and soaring guitar riffs, while the lyrics reveal the excitement of feeling love for the first time.

JLS are set to star in their own movie. The UK boy band have reportedly signed up to star in a 3-D adventure, following in the footsteps of the Beatles and The Spice Girls, who both went from pop acts to musical movie stars during their careers. A source close to the ‘Beat Again’ band told The Sun newspaper: ‘The boys are keen to do a movie, it’s the next logical step. “JLS have a huge fanbase who are bound to lap this up and see the film over and over again in the cinema, as well as buying it when it comes out on DVD. The lads can’t wait to start shooting.”The JLS film will see the band ‘ made up of Marvin Humes, Aston Merrygold, Oritse Williams and Jonathan ‘JB’ Gill – playing versions of themselves, and will include a number of dancing and singing routines. The as-yet-untitled film will reportedly be aimed at younger fans of the group, although no details as to the storyline have been confirmed at present. Last summer it was reported the ‘Love You More’ singers had been offered a part in movie ‘New Year’s Eve’, after a successful trip to the US. The film is a sequel to ‘Valentine’s Day’ which starred big names including Julia Roberts, Ashton Kutcher and Taylor Lautner. The band are also set to star in their own TV show, a one off programme entitled ‘This is JLS’, which will feature a series of sketches and hidden camera stunts showing the group’s funny side, as well as live performances in front of a studio audience. In a joint statement, the group ‘ who shot to fame after competing on UK TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ in 2008 – said: “It will be a real celebration of everything that has happened to us in the last two years. It’s going to be a great night!”

X Factor winner takes it all. Whether you’re a fan of the X Factor or not, there’s no denying that the show has shaken up the music industry and delivered some successful pop acts along the way. But is winning the show the only route to the top? Listener data from Last.fm shows that in recent years, coming second in the show might now be enough to make it big in the music industry. Leona Lewis, who took the X Factor crown in 2006, takes 99% of listener traffic on Last.fm versus runner up of the same year – Ray Quinn. The contestants from 2007 paint a similar picture with the runner up Rhydian only getting 3% of listeners compared to Leon Jackson. But as time marches on, the second place getters begin to gain ground on the winners. In 2008, JLS, who came in second place, account for 43% of Last.fm listens against the 2008 winner, Alexandra Burke’s 57%. 2009 brought similar results with winner Joe McElderry and runner up Olly Murs getting a 65/35 split in listens. Matt Sheret, Data Griot at Last.fm commented, ‘From the beginning of each series, right through to the final, the nation is gripped by all things X Factor. The show is now in its seventh year, and over time, actually winning the show has become less and less important. Runners up from the past few series are making it just as big, despite not making it to the finish line. So what does this mean for this year’s winners? Only time can tell but watch this space to see if the names Diva Fever, Wagner or Treyc mean anything in twelve months time!’

Chris Brown working with JLS on their second album. US singer Chris Brown is said to be working with British boyband JLS on their second album. The R&B star lost favour with fans when he was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, pop singer Rihanna. However JLS, who found fame on The X Factor, have now been working with Brown in the studio and they want him to help them crack America. A source told UK newspaper The Sun: “JLS have been working in the studio with Chris. Aston was really excited about it and has told pals back in the UK. He was quite starstruck. ”They have been writing and recording together and delivered some great stuff for the second album.
Their new album’s called Everybody Wants To Be On TV… and we’re going to put them on TV. Coincidence? Who knows. Exciting? Yes. Scouting For Girls are everywhere right now.
