Although they’re sisters, Jessica Simpson and Ashlee Simpson haven’t collaborated much over the years. But now, the two singers are coming together to create a line of tween apparel as part of the Jessica Simpson Collection.
Jessica and Ashlee will both serve as co-creative directors for the line, which is the first time the girls have ever collaborated on a fashion project. Simpson already has an ultra-successful line of womenswear, including her popular shoe line.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, the Simpson sisters’ new line will feature denim, sportswear, and activewear with a “girly, playful attitude.”
Among the items set to be included are graphic tees, hoodies, knit tops, pullovers, drawstring pants, outerwear, and footwear.
”Creating a tween apparel collection was a natural extension for the brand,” Jessica Simpson told WWD. “I’m excited to bring my sister, Ashlee, along as co-creative director of this division, because she brings a savvy rocker edge that defines today’s tweens.”
“My goal as co-creative director will be to design clothes that will help inspire young girls to express their personalities and creativity through fashion,” Ashlee added.
Jessica has been kept busy with her hot-selling brand over the years, while Ashlee is reportedly starting work on her fourth studio album
The singer, actress and reality TV star is reportedly at the top of Simon Cowell’s list to take on one of the coveted judge-and-mentor roles on the show when it launches later this year. A source told People: “There [are] loads of conversations happening at the moment. No one has been offered a judging role yet as new names keep coming forward who want the role, but there are some frontrunners and it’s fair to say Jessica is one of them. She’s very keen. “She knows what she is talking about [and] is talented and likable. But Simon’s not in a rush to decide. The judges have to mentor on ‘The X Factor’ – it’s more than just turning up for a few hours a week to appear on TV.” Jessica is not the only person in the frame for a role, it was revealed yesterday that record executive Tony Mottola – ex-husband of Mariah Carey and former boss of Sony Music – is also being considered. An insider said: “Simon and Tommy have known each other for years since their days at Sony and Simon has wanted to get Tommy on board one of his shows for a long time. “They get on extremely well and this could be the moment where they finally get on screen together. Tommy’s from the Bronx in New York, he’s tough talking, doesn’t pull any punches and will make great TV.” Other people mentioned as possibilities include Nicole Scherzinger, Mariah Carey, and Cheryl Cole.
Jessica Simpson a generous tipper. The singer, actress and reality TV star recently left an extra 60 per cent on a $500 restaurant bill after dining with her mother, assistant and two other friends at New York Italian restaurant Lavo. As well as leaving a $300 tip for the $500 bill, she also left a positive message to her waitress, telling her “you were amazing and make this world a better place, Love Jess.” Jessica had told her waitress she’d had a hard day at work and ordered Macallan 18-year-old single-malt Scotch whisky, which she drank with ice and paired with an unusual dish of fried Oreo cookies as well as a veal parmigiano. Jessica, 30, has been in great spirits since announcing her engagement to Eric Johnson in November, and recently admitted she was left speechless and in tears when Eric popped the question. Talking about the proposal, she explained: ‘ had to sit on his knee to really get what was happening. I was shocked. “I first said, ‘Yes!’ But I didn’t even try the ring on until 5 minutes in. I just sat there and cried with him.” Jessica was previously married to singer Nick Lachey from 2002 until 2006.
Tony Romo Engaged to Candice Crawford. Candice Crawford received a very special gift from Tony Romo for her 24th birthday this year: a ring and a marriage proposal. Crawford, pageant queen and KDAF-TV anchor, was celebrating the milestone with Romo, 30, and her family at Five Sixty restaurant in Dallas on Thursday when he popped the question, reports the Dallas Morning News. Local station KDAF-TV’s Web site has a photo of the ring. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback – who broke up with Jessica Simpson in July 2009, just before he started dating Crawford – isn’t the first of Simpson’s exes to announce an engagement recently. Nick Lachey, her husband of three years, proposed to longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo in November – just about a week before Simpson announced an engagement of her own to NFL player Eric Johnson. Earlier this year, Simpson said she has no hard feelings for Romo during an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, admitting she still cheers him on from the sidelines. “Tony is great – still a friend of mine,” she said. “I still look at his cute butt in the outfit – uniform.”

Kylie Minogue To Perform On Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. We just got a lot more thankful for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Pop princess Kylie Minogue has just been added to line-up. While some of us will be singing “Get Outta My Way” at the food line, Minogue will be performing one of her hits off her new album “Aphrodite” in the streets of Manhattan. She’ll be on the new Homewood Suites by Hilton “On the Roll Again” float, which sees her surrounded by wooden pull toys and a family of ducks. Maybe a performance of the “Locomotion” would add to the nuttiness. Kylie joins an impressive and especially random group of performers this year, including Kanye West, Mannheim Steamroller, Jimmy Fallon & the Roots, Jessica Simpson, Big Time Rush, Juanes, and India Arie with Dora the Explorer. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade performance will air between 9am and 12pm EST. While she’s in the states, she’s also set to unleash some North American tour dates very soon, following her ultra-successful stateside tour in 2008.
Jessica Simpson’s new boyfriend ‘easygoing’. The ‘Dukes of Hazard’ actress’ sister Ashlee revealed she and husband Pete Wentz sometimes go on double dates with Jessica and her new man, NFL football player Eric Johnson, and she enjoys his gentle nature. She told our source: ‘He’s just really easygoing, they’re a fantastic couple. We’re definitely, like, all a big family, so we double date all the time.” Ashlee has also lifted the lid on her and Pete’s Halloween weekend with their 23-month old son Bronx, and her decision to crop her hair to short and blonde. Ashlee added: ‘For me it’s a fun change with my hair, I had fun, just a new do, chop it all off, be blond again, good times! ‘We had the best Halloween together, Bronx wore several different costumes, but I can’t tell you what.’ Although she enjoyed Halloween, Ashlee admits her favourite holiday is just around the corner, and she is already getting in the festive mood now. She said: ”m obsessed with holidays, I’m, like, ready for Christmas music now, I just get that way, I can’t help it.’ The ‘Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya)’ singer is also working on a fourth studio album, but she won’t release anything for a while, as she is concentrating on her family life. She added: ‘ am working on it, but I’m taking my time, my little boy is my priority, I’m having a blast, but sometime late next year.’
Jessica Simpson To Release Second Holiday Set “Happy Christmas”. Jessica Simpson is trading her country boots for snow ones. The multi-platinum singer and designer is releasing her second Christmas album this year, “Happy Christmas.” “Happy Christmas” is Simpson’s first album since her country set “Do You Know” in 2008 and her second holiday album, following the release of “Rejoyce: the Christmas Album” in 2004. While “Rejoyce” featured duets with her sister Ashlee Simpson and then-husband Nick Lachey, “Happy Christmas” sees her pairing up once again with her “Dukes of Hazzard” co-star Willie Nelson and also a U.S. Marine. Nelson and Simpson will perform “Merry Christmas Baby” on her upcoming new album, while Aviation Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class John Britt and Simpson will appear on the duet “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” which was recorded on the U.S.S. Harry Truman. Simpson will also perform covers of classics like “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Happy Xmas (War Is Over),” and “Here Comes Santa Claus/Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.” Simpson is set to perform her duet with Britt at the Rockefeller Tree Lighting Ceremony, which airs live on NBC. She’ll also host her own PBS holiday special, performing songs from “Happy Christmas.” The album will be available at Macy’s stores, as well as music stores everywhere beginning Monday, November 22nd.
Natalie Imbruglia has blasted people who wear fur. The ‘Torn’ hitmaker ‘ who narrates a new anti-fur video released by animal rights organisation People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) ‘ has urged fashion lovers to turn their backs on animal skins, insisting it is a brutal and inhumane trade. She said: ‘There is no kind way to rip the skin off animals’ backs. Anyone who wears any fur shares the blame for the torture and gruesome deaths of millions of animals each year. “Saving animals is as simple as choosing synthetic alternatives instead of real fur.’ Natalie is not the first star to back PETA’s anti-fur campaign, with supporters including Simon Cowell, Eva Mendes, Kate Winslet and Charlize Theron. However, many other famous faces have risked the wrath of the organisation by continuing to don fur garments. Naming Catherine Zeta-Jones as their Worst Dressed star last year, PETA released a statement saying: ‘With her cow-skin pants, ugly fox coat and icky alligator bag, Catherine Zeta-Jones looks like she’s working her way through Noah’s ark with a knife. “Maybe she’s trying to get into character for an upcoming role as a serial killer – or a taxidermist.” PETA have also had harsh words for singer-and-actress Jessica Simpson – whose transition into country music flopped last year. The group said of her outfits: “All resemble her career – dead.”

During her desk job at Billboard, Kara started writing her own songs. By 1995, DioGuardi successfully secured a record deal with MCA. However, Kara DioGuardi’s lyrical career only began when her friend Paula Abdul gave Kylie Minogue a copy of Kara’s album. Minogue used the song “Spinning Around” on her album and became a top-charting single worldwide. Since then, Kara DioGuardi’s lyrics are unstoppable. DioGuardi is an outstanding songwriter – a fact proven by artists that made her songs reach the top of the charts repeatedly. Such artists include big American names like Faith Hill, Pink, Santana, Backstreet Boys, Pussycat Dolls, Jessica Simpson, Gwen Stefani, Avril Lavigne, Hilary Duff and Britney Spears, among others. Kara DioGuardi has also helped international artists like Kylie Minogue, Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin, Belinda, Thalia, Anastacia and Diego. American Idol stars, including Katharine McPhee, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Hicks, Carrie Underwood, Bo Bice, Clay Aiken and David Archuleta have also sought the help of Kara DioGuardi. From all the artists Kara has helped, her songs have sold over 100 million copies altogether. From 1995 to 2008, Kara DioGuardi has successfully written over 40 international-charting singles, helping 45 albums reach the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. In 2003, Kara won a BMI Cable Award for co-writing and performing the theme song “Somethin’ to Say” for “For The People” – a Lifetime TV series starring Cecilia Suarez, Debbi Morgan, Lea Thompson and A. Martinez. The Grammy-nominated songwriter has also won the 2007 SOCAN Award and the 2007 “BMI Pop Songwriter of the Year,” after having been given 10 BMI Pop Awards for the “most-performed song on the radio” for four consecutive years. One of Kara DioGuardi’s recent achievements is a nomination for the Latin Grammys for “Best Song” after co-writing Belinda’s single “Bella Tracion” with Ben Moody, Mitch Allan, Nacho Peregrin and Belinda. Aside from songwriting, Kara DioGuardi also co-owns the Arthouse Entertainment, a publishing company that helps record companies, artists, songwriters and other music entities that need compositions, artists, productions and other music-related services. She also works with the non-profit substance abuse service organization, Phoenix House, which helps educate teens in operating recording studio equipments.
