Top 10: 2009 Beach Bodies So far, 2009 has been a year of epic change, for better and for worse. We’ve seen a new president take office, igniting the hopes of a public that has long been in dire shortage of it. The economy is still sputtering, America’s national pastime is a dope show replete with fallen giants, and not even fairytale Hollywood romances are safe. Surely, one man can’t turn all this lead into gold, and certainly not in his first 100 days, right? So where do we turn, then, to escape the madness, to avoid the headlines, to hide from our dwindling bank statements? Why, to the beach, of course! Because for every Bernie Madoff, there’s a Bar Rafaeli; for every Manny Ramirez, there’s a Marisa Miller, and for every Spencer Pratt, there’s a Heidi Montag. These are our top 10 2009 beach bodies starting with number 10 . If you come back tomorrow you will find number 9 here, and so on for ten days long. Enjoy!
Top 10: 2009 Beach Bodies
No.10 – Rihanna
Growing up in Barbados, we can only assume that Rihanna spent her formative years perfecting the art of wearing a bikini; then she became a superstar, got involved with an insecure pip-squeak whose last name rhymes with “clown,” saw her personal photographs leaked online, and now must battle to regain her rightful place atop the pop charts. Might we suggest doing it in a bikini?
Rihanna established her dance-pop credentials in summer 2005 with her debut smash hit, “Pon de Replay,” and continued to demonstrate such hit potential in subsequent years (e.g., “S.O.S.” in 2006; “Umbrella” in 2007; “Disturbia” in 2008). However, it was the singer’s third album, Good Girl Gone Bad, that made her a full-fledged international pop star with a regular presence atop the charts. Born Robyn Rihanna Fenty on February 20, 1988, in Saint Michael, Barbados, she exhibited a certain star quality as a young child, often winning beauty and talent contests. Because she lived on the fairly remote island of Barbados in the West Indies, however, she never foresaw the sort of stardom that would later befall her.
Heidi Montag Pratt’s Playboy pics spread is CONFIRMED!
Now the married Ms. Pratt is confirmed the spread. Tonight we have a release date and even details about what you will see. Oh yes, pull up a chair. Pratt’s Playboy issue will be the September 2009 issue. Based upon past trends, expect some initial press previews as early potentially August. So when could we see the first glimpses of Pratt’s Playboy? Expect August, if not July, and possibly June. The mag says to People Magazine tonight that there is “tasteful” nudity, and the photos have already been shot, but will not give details when they were taken, the setting, nor how much Montag-Pratt was paid.
Lauren Conrad may have left The Hills behind, but that doesn’t mean she can’t still laugh at it with the rest of us. Ms. L.C. herself stopped by last night’s, “The Hills: A Staged Reading,” put on by the Upright Citizen’s Brigade, and enjoyed the festivities alongside fans and comedian’s alike. Even better? Gorgeous Private Practice star, Kate Walsh played the role of the recently retired reality starlet, and Lauren couldn’t enough. Throughout the evening, Walsh performed an uncanny impersonation of Conrad’s now infamous Hills lines including, “Tell me if he’s cute cause I’m drunk,” “You’re a bad person. That’s reality,” and the classic diss said to ex-BFF Heidi Montag, “I want to forgive you and I want to forget you.” Surprisingly enough, the real Lauren sat rows away laughing at Walsh…and thus laughing at herself. The Upright Citizen’s Brigade kept the mood light, giving the night a truly accurate introduction to the night: “You’ve seen Shakespeare, you’ve seen Mozart, now experience the work of the greatest geniuses of our time. It’s Heidi vs. Lauren and it’s really, really important.” Truer words have never been spoken. Really.
With the exception of a former colleague who defrauded its writing staff out of at least $20,000, there’s no one that enrages The Hollywood Gossip more than Spencer Pratt. Similar to Paris Hilton, the guy is famous almost strictly by association, boasting absolutely no redeeming qualities and contributing nothing to society, yet seemingly parlaying that into fame and a rather lucrative career. It’s the American way. One can at least give Spencer Pratt credit for exploiting his position and achieving a certain level of stardom. But how well do you really know the emerging star of MTV’s The Hills? He’s one of the least sexy men alive, and one that Lauren Conrad undeniably hates. That’s about all we’ve got. He was featured in the reality TV show The Princes of Malibu, which followed the Jenner kids (Brody Jenner and his brother, Brandon) as well as their bitch tag-along buddy, Spencer, as they… well, do nothing all day but bother David Foster and his superstar clients. Yes Spencer Pratt, you either love him or hate him. Check that. There’s no way you love this guy, you can barely tolerate him during an episode of The Hills. But nevertheless, we’re intrigued by this emerging reality TV star and decided to do some research and learn a little more about him. After all, having Olympic decathlon gold medalist Bruce Jenner as his dad and music powerhouse David Foster as his stepfather, the amazing Brody Jenner has dubiously anointed Spencer Pratt as his “manager.” So who the hell is Spencer Pratt? Here’s what we know… — Similar to the likes of Paris Hilton, the dude is famous strictly by association, yet seems to parlayed that into a rather lucrative career… or at least one that’s headed that way. — He was first featured in the reality show The Princes of Malibu, which followed the Jenner kids (Brody and his brother, Brandon Jenner) as well as their tag-along buddy, Spencer, as they do nothing all day except occasionally bother David Foster and his superstar clients. He’s now on the Laguna Beach spin-off series, The Hills, having weaseled onto the show and into our homes every Monday night by getting into the pants of one of its leading ladies, Heidi Montag. She’s hot… even before the fake boobs. Spencer has reportedly been negged from every hot club in Greater L.A., except Area, where girlfriend Heidi pulls stings to get him in. Heidi Montag works (as Hills fans may recall) for Brent Bolthouse, who’s the promoter of the venue. Spencer Pratt’s father is a famous L.A. dentist. Hey, those guys make a hell of a lot of money. He has a cameo in Kevin Federline’s new video. However, we aren’t sure which video it is. If you know, please leave us a comment so that we may find the clip on YouTube and post it for all to ridicule enjoy. Spencer’s quote-unquote management company, Innovator Management, has about four clients, though it’s tough to tell as most of Pratt’s “companies” have MySpace pages without any other Web presence. — The clients of this “company” are, shockingly, Brody Jenner, Heidi Montag (who is recording an album soon under Spencer’s guidance – should be a dandy), David Foster and The Princes of Malibu DVD. Spencer is Vice President of Archangel L.A., a company which appears to make silver jewelry that retails at two stores in Los Angeles. The goods are not yet available for purchase (or look at) online. The reality TV star also has his (slimy) hands in the music biz, working for 143 Records (David Foster’s label for Atlantic), and the nebulous Precise Music Group, which has one artist, YaBoy, a rapper on the L.A. underground scene. Spencer Pratt and Brody Jenner are both “VPs of 310 Creative,” a company that animates Web graphics and designs celebrity websites. Among the “clients” are Nicole Richie, David Foster, Ya Boy, and Korn.
The dancer-turned-actress Jennifer Morrison made her film debut in the movie “Intersection.” She has also starred in “Urban legends Final Cut” and “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” but she currently has a role on the Fox drama “House.” The actress was born August 19, 1979, in Chicago and has dated co-star Jesses Spencer. An actress who first earned her critical laurels (and reeled in a substantial television fanbase) as Dr. Alison Cameron on the blockbuster medical drama House (2004), Jennifer Morrison grew up well outside the realm of Hollywood, in a middle-class family in the Chicago suburb of Arlington Heights, Illinois. As a preteen and teenager, Morrison entered showbusiness via modeling, appearing in innumerable print campaigns and gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated for Kids at one point; after wrapping up high school, she attended Loyola University as a theater major (reportedly graduating in only three years) and subsequently trained with the legendary Steppenwolf theatrical ensemble, onetime home to such stars as John Malkovich, Gary Sinise, and Glenne Headly. From there, Hollywood fame was merely a short leap away; by the time of her Loyola graduation, Morrison had already officially debuted onscreen, with a small part as the daughter of Richard Gere and Sharon Stone in the psychological drama Intersection (1994) and a more significant role as a missing girl who psychically haunts Kevin Bacon in the supernatural thriller Stir of Echoes (1999). Morrison signed for her first lead with a role that many felt unworthy of her talents and intelligence: that of Amy Mayfield, a young film student who gets in way over her head amid a thesis project on urban legends, in John Ottman’s slasher outing Urban Legends: The Final Cut (2000). Subsequent projects included Michael Davis’s teen-oriented romantic comedy 100 Women (2002), Casey La Scala’s teen comedy Grind (2003), and — as something of a nadir — the critically despised holiday gross-out fest Surviving Christmas (2004), in which she played Ben Affleck’s snotty girlfriend. As indicated, House represented Morrison’s breakthrough and the role that finally brought her public attention. The long-running Fox drama told of Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie), a diagnostician with an astounding degree of medical knowledge and an absolute dearth of social skills. As Dr. Cameron (an immunologist with a not-so-secret crush on the physician), Morrison brought a much-needed dose of warmth and vulnerability to the series. Morrison subsequently made headlines in 2007, when she was tapped to appear as Winona Kirk, James T. Kirk’s mother, in J.J. Abrams’s much-anticipated 11th installment of the Star Trek series.
