ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” Sixth Season Available On DVD
ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” Sixth Season Available On DVD. Fans of “Desperate Housewives” will be excited to learn that the show is releasing the complete sixth season yesterday, September 21. Hard to believe that the housewives have been together for six seasons; lots has happened, including the addition of Drea de Matteo, whose character is tough, but has a mysterious past. On the surface, the residents of Wisteria lane appear to be the picture of suburban America. But underneath lay bigger stories – infidelity, deceit, blackmail and even murder. And with not-so-honest husbands, complicated relationships, family drama and meddling neighbors adding to the drama and humor, and the sixth season is no different. The housewives are even interviewed by Miss Piggy one-on-one.

VH1 Announces Record New Series For 2010. VH1 announced that they’re preparing to debut a record 44 series in 2010. Having already debuted successful seasons of shows starring R&B siblings Brandy and Ray J, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas of TLC, and Fantasia Barrino, the network is set to debut a whole slate of new star-studded programming, as well as plenty of new drama-filled reality series. Eva Longoria Parker lets cameras into her restaurant “Beso” for “Beso: Waiting on Fame,” which follows the aspiring actors working at the star’s Hollywood hot spot. Meanwhile, Fantasia is set for another season of her show “Fantasia For Real,” which will follow the music star and “American Idol” winner promoting her new album. On the music front, “VH1 Divas” is back, but this time they’re performing for the troops, heading out to different military bases around the world and even suiting up as soldiers for a day. The line-up has yet to be announced but “VH1 and the USO Present Divas Rock the Troops” will premiere in December. VH1′s “Behind the Music” is back with new episodes starring Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Hudson, Courtney Love, Usher, and Eve. A new “Behind the Music” with Christina Aguilera is a part of “An Evening with Christina Aguilera,” on Sunday, June 13th, which also includes the premiere of her “VH1 Storytellers,” with performances from her new album “Bionic.” VH1′s “Friday Night Alright” concert series continues on Fridays with shows from Lady Gaga, Lady Antebellum, Stone Temple Pilots, and Usher. Mark McGrath (see photo) also hosts a new game show, “Don’t Forget the Lyrics,” premiering in September. On the reality front, “The OCD Project” follows patients affected by obsessive compulsive disorder, “Dad Camp” tries to make six irresponsible soon-to-be dads ready for fatherhood, and “Money Hungry” finds teams betting on their own weight loss for the chance to win $100,000. VH1 is also joining the wedding reality show realm with two shoes, currently titled “Wedding Wars,” with couples competing for a dream wedding, and “My Big Friggin Wedding,” which captures all the drama of bridezillas and their unusual demands for some of the wildest weddings seen on TV.
Drea De Matteo Leaving “Desperate Housewives” In May

Drea De Matteo Leaving "Desperate Housewives" In May
Drea De Matteo Leaving “Desperate Housewives” In May. Drea de Matteo won’t be staying for long on Wisteria Lane. The 38-year-old actress, who plays Italian toughie Angie Bolen on the sixth season of the ABC hit series “Desperate Housewives,” will be exiting the show in May. Series creator Marc Cherry insists that de Matteo wasn’t fired from the show, but they are just fulfilling their part of the deal when the former “Sopranos” star agreed to do the show. He told our source, “Part of the deal when we hired Drea was she was only interested in doing one season. She has a baby and is eager to get back to her life in New York.” Cherry refused to divulge how Angie will leave the rest of the housewives in the show, but he teases the arrival of John Barrowman as the man she has been running from will build to an “explosive finale.” Meanwhile, regular cast Dana Delany is also possibly leaving the girls – Felicity Huffman, Eva Longoria-Parker, Marcia Cross, and Teri Hatcher – this season. According to our source, she is being lured to star in an ABC pilot “Body of Evidence.”
