The talk show host discovered through a genealogical society that she is a distant cousin of the future princess and still has her fingers crossed for a last-minute invitation to her wedding to Prince William.

In an interview with Terri Seymour for ‘Extra’, she said: “We’re 15th cousins, yeah, it’s not like we’re 20th or something … we’re 15th.

“It’s not too late, Terri. I’m not counting anything out. That’s not how I got to where I am, by being a glass-half-empty kind of person. I mean, there could be a phone call.

“I have a beautiful outfit picked out, and a hat.”

Although she may not be invited to the nuptials, Ellen is hopeful she can use her family connections to secure an interview with Kate.

She said: “There will be a time when Oprah’s not gonna be around next year. Who will be around to help her when she needs something? Me.”

Ellen – who is married to actress Portia de Rossi is not the only American celebrity desperate to attend Kate and William’s nuptials at London’s Westminster Abbey.

Reese Witherspoon – who recently wed Hollywood agent Jim Toth – admitted she would have given anything to get an invite.

She said: “I can’t even contain my enthusiasm for the royal wedding! I’m kind of bummed I’m not invited to the royal wedding. My girlfriend asked me if I was invited. Well, no, but I invited them to my wedding!”

Celebrities fortunate enough to be invited include David Beckham and his wife Victoria, Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish, Guy Ritchie and Joss Stone.

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres announces the newest artist on her record label eleveneleven, 12 year-old singer, Savannah Robinson on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Wednesday, March 30th. Savannah made her first appearance on the show on February 18th and performed “And I am Telling You I’m Not Going.” Ellen was so impressed by the performance she has signed her to record label eleveneleven. Ellen then showed the video to Savannah’s idol, Jennifer Hudson who was also blown away. Jennifer joins Savannah for her performance today of “And I am Telling You I’m Not Going.” Jennifer also announces she is going on tour and invites Savannah to sing with her.

“This is so exciting… about a month ago I saw this incredible 12 year old singer. She was on YouTube her name is Savannah Robinson and I just thought oh my god, she is so talented. So I wanted to have her on the show. I had her on the show she was even more amazing then I thought she would be so I signed her to my record label eleveneleven. Get this, Jennifer Hudson was here I showed her the video…she is signing “And I am Telling You.” Jennifer Hudson sees it and she is blown away so today she (Jennifer Hudson) is singing with Savannah together on the stage. Ellen launched her record label, eleveneleven, in May 2010 when she signed her first artist YouTube sensation, Greyson Chance. Greyson released his first single “Waiting Outside the Lines” this fall and he just wrapped up his first tour with Miranda Cosgrove. Greyson is currently in the studio with Nick Jonas working on his wildly anticipated first album. This summer Greyson will tour with Cody Simpson for the “Waiting 4U Tour.”

The ‘Baby’hitmaker – who shocked fans when he changed his signature hairstyle recently – gave chat show host Ellen DeGeneres a lock of his hair when he appeared on her show and she promptly put it up for auction on eBay receiving bids of $10,000 within one hour.

The auction closed today (02.03.11) with the successful bidder paying a whopping $40,668 for the tresses plus a chance to meet the teen sensation next time he appears on Ellen’s chatshow. Ellen has donated the fee to charity The Gentle Barn Foundation,

Meanwhile it has been revealed that Justin celebrated his 17th birthday on Monday (01.03.11) in a $6,000-a-night suite at the St. Regis Monarch Beach hotel in Dana Point, California with girlfriend Selena Gomez.

A source said: “For the most part, Justin and Selena wanted to be left alone. They didn’t have bodyguards or parents with them, but there was an emergency contact list at the front desk with numbers for a bodyguard and some of their people’s info if they needed it in any way.”

The Presidential Suite where they stayed comes with a butler on call, two bedrooms, a dining room to seat 10, a private balcony overlooking the ocean and a hot tub.

Despite their lavish surroundings, the couple – who went public with their romance at the Oscars on Sunday night (27.02.11) – were seen enjoying a romantic dinner at the nearby Stonehill Tavern
