Donatella Versace

Lady Gaga is ‘obsessed’ with Versace

The American songstress is famed for her eccentric fashion choices and often sports unconventional attire.

The 24-year-old star recently accepted the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s (CFDA) prestigious fashion icon award, cementing her place as a fully-fledged fashionista.

The eccentric singer, who has walked on the catwalk for Thierry Mugler, says her latest look is a tribute to Gianni Versace, who was murdered in 1997.

“Right now I’m having an obsession with Versace. I’m so Italian, I worship him,’ she said in an interview with a British television show.

Gaga is grateful to Gianni’s sister, Donatella Versace, for making the star’s fashion accessible. The 56-year-old Italian designer is currently Vice President of the Versace group and well as chief designer, taking over after her brother died.

‘Donatella has opened the archives for the first time since Gianni’s death,’ she said.

His wife announced in May that she wanted a divorce because of his womanizing. “I was very surprised .. I did not expect this judgment. I find it without motive, unjustified,” Mario Boselli, chairman of Italy’s national chamber of fashion, told Reuters. “I saw at least 50 shows … certainly I did not see that what was written and I believe that this fashion week was dominated by balance and great elegance, certainly nothing vulgar and uselessly provocative.”  Italy’s fashion capital is known for top names such as Giorgio Continue reading
