Derek Hough Talks “Demolition Dancing” On “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” is getting its dance on this week with an all-new episode. “Dancing With the Stars” regular players Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, Tony Dolovani, and Chelsie Hightower, join in on the action to add some movement to an already moving experience. Derek, Mark, Tony, and Chelsie are dancing with the Arboleda family, whose patriarch established the “Move to the Groove” program to fight childhood obesity and is now used in various schools around Wisconsin. While the Arboleda’s worked hard to keep other families healthy, they were compromising their own with their 70-year-old home. “What made we want to do it in the first place was seeing how fantastic it is to see an amazing family who do so much for the community but don’t really get anything back,” Derek Hough told our source. In come Ty Pennington, Xzibit, Michael Maloney, and Paige Hemmis. But how did the “Dancing With the Stars” team really get things moving? “I can’t say my dancing necessarily helped, although we did do a fun, kind-of 80’s montage on demolition day,” Hough said. That’s right. Hough and company partake in a “dancing demolition,” where the dancers get down while the house goes down. Sounds like must see television to me. Along with getting the Arboleda’s into their new home, the crew worked with them to take their award-winning dance program on the road, exposing it to even more schools than the three it’s currently used in. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” is usually watched best with tissues in hand. But how did Hough, who usually expresses himself on the dance floor, deal with the emotional experience at hand? “To see their life change is just phenomenal,” Hough said. “To be a part of it in person and to be a part of the process from when they first find out to when they walk around and see it, it was a phenomenal experience.” The special “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” featuring the stars of “Dancing With the Stars” airs today on ABC.

Andrews survived the first elimination round of "Dancing With the Stars"
Andrews survives, Doherty exits ‘Dancing’. Tampa’s Erin Andrews survived the first elimination round of “Dancing With the Stars” Tuesday night when former “Beverly Hills, 90210″ star Shannen Doherty came up short in the national voting. Doherty and professional dance partner Mark Ballas did a lively jive dance number on the Monday competition. The judges liked her performance and it appeared that low-scoring reality star Kate Gosselin or actress Pamela Anderson might be going home. Doherty had danced despite a leg injury. Andrews and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy remain in the top three of the couples in the judges’ voting behind favorites Nicole Scherzinger/Derek Hough and Evan Lysacek/Anna Trebunskaya. Andrews, who is negotiating for a new contract as a ESPN sideline reporter, has denied rumors that she and Chmerkovskiy are having a romance. The 31-year-old told ESPN Radio that the rumor is ridiculous. ” We are just dancing …We spend twenty-four hours with these people and it is just like, ‘Oh they are dating,’” she said.
Lewis Hamilton is renting LA homes to be near Nicole Scherzinger
Lewis Hamilton is renting two houses in Los Angeles so he can be near Nicole Scherzinger. The British Formula One driver – who recently reunited with the Pussycat Dolls singer – is renting properties in Melrose Avenue and Park La Brea so they can be together as often as possible, despite their hectic careers. A source said: ‘Lewis is determined to give their relationship another go. It unravelled before because they were never together in the same place, which made seeing each other very complicated.’ Nicole has signed up for ‘Dancing with the Stars’ – where she has been partnered with Cheryl Cole’s friend Derek Hough – and Lewis wants to be able to spend as much time with her as he can while she remains in the show, which is filmed in Los Angeles. The source added to The Sun newspaper: ‘Depending on how well Nicole does in the show, she could be in Los Angeles for months. ‘Lewis likes a bit of variety so he’s opted for two properties, a secluded house in Melrose and a swanky penthouse near his favourite shopping arcade, The Grove.’ Earlier this week, Lewis admitted he and Nicole were determined to make their relationship work this time. The racing champion – who rekindled his romance with the pop beauty after the pair split in early January due to work pressures – said: ‘You make it work, you do all you can, you know? When something is worth it, you do it.”
