Cher wants to be a movie director. The 64-year-old actress has no plans to retire from movies but if she starts to look old she intends to move behind the camera. She explained: “My grandmother just died at 96 and she still looked pretty hot and my mom is 84 and still looks great so I’m just going to keep going and pray for the best. “And you know what? When it’s not like that, I’ll just do something else. I want to direct movies anyway – that’s what I really want to do. “Why continue working? It’s like telling Picasso, you’ve done enough paintings, you’ve created everything, there’s nothing more to do. I like what I do and will do it as long as I can.”The actress-and-singer – who can be seen starring alongside Christina Aguilera in new movie ‘Burlesque’- is currently considering other movie roles but admits she finds acting tough. She added: “I would like to make more movies. Stanley Tucci thinks he can direct me in a film – I’m not very directable though. “I do enjoy acting, but it’s hard work. It’s torture for me right before, until I start filming, because it takes a lot of emotion, but it’s fun.”

Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen shot dead after Cher movie premiere. Well-known and popular Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen was gunned down in an execution-style shooting on Monday night in Beverly Hills. Chasen had earlier attended the premiere of the new Cher movie ‘Burlesque’ and later attended the after-party with her client, songwriter Dianne Warren, who wrote a song in the movie. Cher and Christina Aguilera were also at the party. Chasen left the party at the W at around midnight and was heading for her Westwood home. At 12.28am, residents heard gunshots followed by a car crash. The passenger window of her Mercedes was shattered. Chasen was found bleeding. One hour later she was pronounced dead. Police are investigating different scenarios, one being she was a victim of road-rage, another that she was followed by a stalker. Ronni ran the publicity firm Chasen & Co. and specialised in soundtrack composers. Her clients included Howard Shore, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, David Hirshfelder and Mark Isham.

Cher Announces End Of Her Three-Year Vegas Residency In February. After three years of headlining her show in Vegas, Cher has announced the final curtain for her shows. The multi-award-winning performer will end her three-year residency at The Caesars Palace’s The Colosseum on February 5, 2011. The show, simply titled “Cher,” boasts the talents of choreographer and director Doriana Sanchez, who brings the singer’s vision to life using 16 dancers and aerialists, videos, special effects, and grand set designs. Cher will have performed around 200 shows during the course of her three-year residency, which began on May 6, 2009. John Meglen, co-CEO of AEG Live/Concerts West said, “Cher is an entertainment legend. We are delighted that she has called The Colosseum at Caesars Palace home for three years. We wish her luck in future endeavors and thank her and the cast and crew for their dedication.” “With each performance as fresh and energetic as opening night, Cher continues to reign among the best of the city’s long roster of legendary talents,” added Gary Selesner, president of Caesars Palace. “Our guests won’t want to miss these grand finale performances.” Tickets for the January 11 through February 5 shows will go on sale September 25.
