The Rolling Stones Celebrate Thanksgiving With VH1 And Palladia
The Rolling Stones Celebrate Thanksgiving With VH1 And Palladia. This month is the Turkey holiday of Thanksgiving. While many people will be thinking of three big Fs – food, family and football – this year’s Thanksgiving should make people think about one other thing: music. VH1, VH1 Classic, and Palladia are collaborating to put on three different music specials on three different days during Thanksgiving week highlighting the best of the legendary The Rolling Stones. Two initial world television premiere documentaries will lead up to a third premiere of “VH1 Rock Doc: Shine A Light.” On Wednesday, Nov. 24th, VH1 Classic will show the pivotal documentary “Let’s Spend the Night Together,” the acclaimed film directed by Hal Ashby. The documentary shows a performance from the Stones’ 1981 tour, including performances of classics from their album “Some Girls,” including “Just My Imagination,” “Beast of Burden” and “Some Girls.” The next day, Thanksgiving, VH1 Classic and Palladia will show “Ladies and Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones.” Following that taped concert will be “In Rehearsal: The Rolling Stones at Montreux,” hosted by VH1 Classic Rock Night radio show host Eddie Webb. Finally, on Black Friday, Nov.26th, VH1 will end its Rolling Stones-athon with the world premiere of the VH1 Rock Doc called “Shine a Light.” The 2008 documentary directed by Martin Scorsese documents The Rolling Stones’ 2006 Beacon Theater performance in New York City on their “A Bigger Bang Tour,” which will feature special guest performers on stage with the band, including Jack White, Buddy Guy and Christina Aguilera
