Katy Perry has been named the world’s hottest woman. The ‘I Kissed A Girl’ hitmaker – who is engaged to Russell Brand – topped the annual Maxim Hot 100 list for being ‘sexy and talented’, narrowly beating Victoria’s Secret model Brooklyn Decker and ‘Avatar’ actress Zoe Saldana into second and third place respectively. Explaining her top ranking, the US men’s magazine said of Katy: ‘She’s the best friend you suddenly realize you’ve loved your whole life. The rad chick who taught you to skateboard and whistle and also looks unbelievable in a bikini.’ Making up the rest of the top five were ‘Gossip Girl’ star Blake Lively, and ‘Transformers’ beauty Megan Fox, while ‘Russian Roulette’ singer Rihanna, George Clooney’s girlfriend Elizabetta Canalis, actress Olivia Munn, socialite Kim Kardashian and model Marisa Miller made up the rest of the top 10. Last year’s Maxim Hot 100 number one Olivia Wilde scraped in at number 20, while notable absentees included Beyonce Knowles and Lady Gaga.

Andy Roddick’s wife cried over her first ever Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover. Brooklyn Decker says landing the coveted photoshoot is the “equivalent of a model winning the MVP or the Super Bowl.” After making her SI Swimsuit debut in 2006, the 22-year-old North Carolina native finally nabbed the cover spot this year. She told Today show on Monday, “I burst into tears like a child. It’s really exciting. It’s just now hitting me, so I am really happy.” Decker said she was just as surprised as everyone else. She did not learn that she landed the cover spot until Monday, when she thought she was just going to a casting call. She now joins a long list of supermodels and celebrities who have graced the SI cover over the years, such as Tyra Banks, Bar Refaeli, Rachel Hunter, Rebecca Romijn, Elle Macpherson, Christie Brinkley, and Marisa Miller. The blonde beauty, who married the tennis champ in April last year, has also been unveiled as the new face and body of the lingerie brand La Senza.
