Britney buys parakeets . The ‘Womanizer’ singer – who finished the North American leg of her tour last weekend – bought the birds during a shopping trip in California this week. A source said: ‘Britney had just picked up some dog food when she spotted the parakeets and decided to buy a pair. Billboard did announce pop sensation Lady Gaga will be named its “Rising Star” at the 2009 Billboard Women In Music event, taking place on Oct. 2nd in New York City. In celebration of the 10th anniversary of her debut on the music scene, Jive Records is releasing Britney Spears The Singles Collection on November 23rd. To launch the special package, a brand new single entitled ‘3,’ which Britney recently recorded with hitmaker Max Martin, will be released on November 16th. There will be two configurations of The Singles Collection; an ultimate fan box set and a standard version. The ultimate fan box set version of The Singles Collection will contain all 29 of her singles, including the new song ‘3.’ Each disc will be packaged in its own slip sleeve case with original artwork, and will include an additional b-side or a remix of the track. Green Day won three awards for ‘21 Guns’, including Best Rock Video, while Lady GaGa, and Beyonce, for her ‘Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)’, also picked up three prizes each.
