Ben Affleck Apologizes To Boston With “The Town”.   Ben Affleck’s “The Town” is a “long apology” to the residents of the North End, the actor/director said. After shutting down several blocks of the city for the film’s shoot, Affleck said that it was their way of saying sorry to the residents. Affleck, who co-wrote and directed the heist thriller based on the Chuck Hogan novel “Prince of Thieves,” said at the film’s gala screening in Toronto that shooting in Boston was very difficult. He said, “This movie is nothing if not a long apology to the people of the North End. When you’re blocking up traffic, where we parked, how much we smashed, how much we burned the cars – it just got very, very hard to do.” “Then to make matters worse – it rained. So we kept postponing and postponing. We’d close all the streets and then we wouldn’t be shooting. Now the North End is a great tourist destination and they’re making a lot of money, so we’re taking money out of people’s wallet.” “Anyway, I’m sorry. I hope that they like it.” The film also stars Jon Hamm, Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Hall, Blake Lively, Pete Postlewaite, and Chris Cooper. “The Town” isn’t the first film Affleck made in his hometown. He also shot the Oscar-winning “Good Will Hunting” in 1997, “Gone Baby Gone” in 2007, and the forthcoming “The Company Men.”

Mindy Kaling on the THE TONIGHT SHOW

Comedian and actress Mindy Kaling’s portrayal of airhead Kelly Kapoor on the hit series The Office is so good, it’s easy to forget that in real life, her considerable brain power has gone into producing and writing the show as well. Kaling graduated from Dartmouth College in 2001, but not before leaving her mark on the school’s improv troupe The Dog Day Players, creating a comic strip in the Dartmouth newspaper called -Badly Drawn Girl and portraying none other than male actor Ben Affleck in a satirical play that she co-wrote entitled +Matt & Ben. The play went on to make Time Magazine’s “Top Ten Theatrical Events of the Year” for 2003. Kaling joined the cast and crew of The Office in 2005. She also began appearing in feature films, starting with a cameo in Steve Carell’s The 40-Year-Old Virgin and later appearing in Office co-star John Krasinski’s romantic comedy License to Wed. South Park

South Park Season Premiere To Swing At Tiger Woods. All-new adventures are in store for Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Kenny and the rest of the gang.  Comedy Central’s “South Park” is set to return for a 14th season on the all-humor network. In the midst of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, the season premiere will air at 10 p.m. ET/PT March 17. After last season’s exploits involving motorcycle gangs, 9-year-old pimps and crews of Japanese whalers, the show starts its latest season with a swipe at one of the more controversial figures of recent months: Tiger Woods. In keeping with their topical comedy, series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone will feature the boys of “South Park” encountering the disgraced golfer when he comes to their small Colorado town. Woods is one of many celebrities to be lampooned in cartoon form, joining a lineup that includes Paris Hilton, Ben Affleck, Barbra Streisand, Tom Cruise and President Barack Obama, just to name a few big names who have been mocked on the series, which will celebrate its 200th episode April 14.  The 14th season premiere will be prefaced by the DVD release of “South Park: The Complete Thirteenth Season Uncensored” through Comedy Central Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment. The home release, also on Blu-ray Hi-Def, will include deleted scenes for the first time, as well as the featurette “Inside Xbox: A Behind-the-Scenes Tour of South Park Studios” and bonus codes for the Xbox Live Arcade game “South Park: Let’s Go Tower Defense Play.”

After broadcast, new episodes will be available on Xbox Live, Sony PlayStation Network, iTunes, Amazon Video OnDemand and SouthParkStudios.com.
