“Bikini Girl” Does Battle With Kara DioGuardi
Posted in: Coffee Talk by newsdesk on May 22, 2024
Who knew that American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi had such a killer set of…pipes? She clearly blew away 21-year-old “bikini girl” Katrina Darrell in last night’s season finale when she emerged with a microphone during Darrell’s rendition of “Vision of Love.” DioGuardi, a noted record producer, surprised over 30 million viewers when she belted out the lyrics and then ripped open the buttons on her dress to reveal a killer set of curves. Darrell’s facial expression, upon realizing that the 38-year-old both out sang and out stripped her, was priceless. Good thing because the Idol castoff is probably down to her last penny after having mid-season boob job. “I was going to ask what’s new,” Ryan Seacrest said when Darrell took the stage, “but I think I know.” Boob jobs on American Idol are nothing new. Season 5 contestant Kellie Pickler also went under the knife after she was booted
off the show. Although her rep denied the 22-year-old had any “facial surgery,” it’s pretty obvious, even from outer space, that the country western star was on the receiving end of a few knives and needles. So what’s with 20-somethings getting botox anyway? Are they frowning more often or simply trying to keep up with a new breed of women, the super hot 40-something? DioGuardi’s strip tease is just one example of how older women are over shadowing younger girls by staying in shape. When a 20-year-old flaunts her flat abs, it’s simply a matter of metabolism. But when a 38-year-old shows the world she’s buff and beautiful, men take notice.
Gwen Stefani: Balancing Family with No Doubt
Posted in: Coffee Talk by newsdesk on May 10, 2024
Taking a break from her career comeback duties, Gwen Stefani spent the day with her two boys while out at The Grove in West Hollywood on Saturday (May 9). The “Hollaback Girl” singer toted her youngest son Zuma in her arms as Kingston made a mad dash straight for paparazzi upon hopping out of the car. The family outing (sans hubby Gavin Rossdale) comes just after Gwen and her No Doubt bandmates made their much-awaited return to the stage on the Today Show earlier this week. Also appearing on “American Idol” during the course of the week, Gwen was asked by host Ryan Seacrest why the group is touring for the first time in over five years despite not releasing a new album. Stefani quickly replied, “My fault, my fault, my fault. I had all the babies and all that and then I was home. … I just said let’s just go on tour. I don’t want to be home writing. I just want to get out there, see everybody, get inspired and kind of do it backwards.”
More about Jennifer Morrison.
Posted in: Bios, Film by newsdesk on May 9, 2024
The dancer-turned-actress Jennifer Morrison made her film debut in the movie “Intersection.” She has also starred in “Urban legends Final Cut” and “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” but she currently has a role on the Fox drama “House.” The actress was born August 19, 1979, in Chicago and has dated co-star Jesses Spencer. An actress who first earned her critical laurels (and reeled in a substantial television fanbase) as Dr. Alison Cameron on the blockbuster medical drama House (2004), Jennifer Morrison grew up well outside the realm of Hollywood, in a middle-class family in the Chicago suburb of Arlington Heights, Illinois. As a preteen and teenager, Morrison entered showbusiness via modeling, appearing in innumerable print campaigns and gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated for Kids at one point; after wrapping up high school, she attended Loyola University as a theater major (reportedly graduating in only three years) and subsequently trained with the legendary Steppenwolf theatrical ensemble, onetime home to such stars as John Malkovich, Gary Sinise, and Glenne Headly. From there, Hollywood fame was merely a short leap away; by the time of her Loyola graduation, Morrison had already officially debuted onscreen, with a small part as the daughter of Richard Gere and Sharon Stone in the psychological drama Intersection (1994) and a more significant role as a missing girl who psychically haunts Kevin Bacon in the supernatural thriller Stir of Echoes (1999). Morrison signed for her first lead with a role that many felt unworthy of her talents and intelligence: that of Amy Mayfield, a young film student who gets in way over her head amid a thesis project on urban legends, in John Ottman’s slasher outing Urban Legends: The Final Cut (2000). Subsequent projects included Michael Davis’s teen-oriented romantic comedy 100 Women (2002), Casey La Scala’s teen comedy Grind (2003), and — as something of a nadir — the critically despised holiday gross-out fest Surviving Christmas (2004), in which she played Ben Affleck’s snotty girlfriend. As indicated, House represented Morrison’s breakthrough and the role that finally brought her public attention. The long-running Fox drama told of Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie), a diagnostician with an astounding degree of medical knowledge and an absolute dearth of social skills. As Dr. Cameron (an immunologist with a not-so-secret crush on the physician), Morrison brought a much-needed dose of warmth and vulnerability to the series. Morrison subsequently made headlines in 2007, when she was tapped to appear as Winona Kirk, James T. Kirk’s mother, in J.J. Abrams’s much-anticipated 11th installment of the Star Trek series.

Kara DioGuardi On Her ‘Idol’ Future: ‘I’m Only Here For One Season’
Posted in: Contests by newsdesk on May 3, 2024
With just a few weeks to go in the eighth season of “American Idol,” this season’s new judge, Kara DioGuardi , told TV Guide that she may not be back next year. “I’m only here for one season,” she told the mag. “That’s what we’ve discussed. So we’ll see what happens. Hopefully they keep me on.” A hit songwriter who was largely unknown to the public before joining Simon Cowell , Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson at the “Idol” judges’ table, Kara added that she’s “grateful to America” for letting her ease into the role. “My life has become extremely exciting and I am so excited for this opportunity,” she said. “I feel grateful to America that they let me grow and they let me find my groove on the show and that they were patient. And hopefully I haven’t disappointed them. It’s been a scary experience at times.” But as to whether she’ll be sticking around, Simon Cowell told the mag recently that he felt it was likely. “I would imagine so,” he said, adding that it was out of his hands. “The only say I have is about Ryan, Randy and Paula. I’ve always made it clear that I wouldn’t like to do the show without them. So that’s all I’m really concerned about.” “American Idol” continues this week with “Rock Week” for its top four, Adam Lambert , Danny Gokey , Allison Iraheta and Kris Allen . Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash will be the week’s mentor.
American Idol is boogeying toward another elimination.

Tuesday night’s worrisome theme was “disco,” and a number of finalists impressed the judges with groovy versions of ’70s classics. “This bunch right here is one of the most talented groups of seven kids we’ve ever had on the show,” declared judge Randy Jackson. As expected, the seemingly unstoppable force known as Adam Lambert had Simon Cowell and the gang wrapped around his finger. The 27-year-old “Idol” frontrunner wowed the panel with his restrained, emotional delivery of the 1977 hit “If I Can’t Have You” by Yvonne Elliman. Paula Abdul — who had a dreamy look on her face — said she felt Lambert’s “pain.” The judge called the theater actor fascinating, brilliant and a shoo-in for the finals of the Fox singing contest. In another bold declaration, she also told Danny Gokey he’d make it to the final stretch. The smokey-voiced singer crooned the 1978 hit “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire, giving off a Michael McDonald-performing-at-a-wedding vibe. Abdul cooed that he has “one of the sexiest voices.” But Cowell didn’t share the Gokey love. The hard-to-please judge picked on the singer for lacking star power. Teen phenom Allison Iraheta and heartthrob Kris Allen nailed their respective renditions of “Hot Stuff” and “She Works Hard for the Money.” Matt Giraud tackled “Stayin’ Alive” — an oh-so-appropriate song choice, given his last-minute save by judges last week. Cowell detected desperation in Giraud’s hard-working performance, while the rest of the panel praised his singing chops. Cowell, as usual, saved his harshest criticism for Lil Rounds. The 24-year-old Memphis mom has spiraled downward on “Idol,” transforming from a major frontrunner to an embattled bottom-dweller. Cowell derided Rounds’ rousing cover of “I’m Every Woman” as copycat and “a mess.”
Going a step further, he predicted “this is gonna be the last time we’re ever gonna see you.”
Two finalists will get the boot on today’s results show. This time, judges won’t be able to save a singer from elimination, since they used up their one-time save option last week.
