The pop punk band toured with The Saturdays last year, and while they initially thought they would easily beat them in a dance-off, they were shocked by howe many cheesy disco moves they knew.
The band’s Sam Halliday told BANG showbiz: “We showed them some dance moves, the ping pong and the go loose ‘ but they have loads, they taught us to screw light bulb, shape the fish, they’ve got some good moves, they are party girls!
“Especially Vanessa [White] ‘ she took us for a night out in Cardiff after out show there, and we had a great party.”
While Twenty Twenty – which also includes Jack Halliday and Sonny Watson-Lang ‘ got on great with the five piece girl band, they couldn’t understand why they always rehearsed in their dressing gowns.
Sonny added: “They used to go to rehearsals very day in their dressing gowns. They rehearse in them all the time, so you’d walk into soundcheck and they’d be there in their dressing gown and curlers!”
Twenty Twenty have joined the line up for The Great British Weekend, held in the grounds of Warwick Castle on July 15 to 17, on a bill which also includes Alexandra Burke and Olly Murs.

X Factor winner takes it all. Whether you’re a fan of the X Factor or not, there’s no denying that the show has shaken up the music industry and delivered some successful pop acts along the way. But is winning the show the only route to the top? Listener data from Last.fm shows that in recent years, coming second in the show might now be enough to make it big in the music industry. Leona Lewis, who took the X Factor crown in 2006, takes 99% of listener traffic on Last.fm versus runner up of the same year – Ray Quinn. The contestants from 2007 paint a similar picture with the runner up Rhydian only getting 3% of listeners compared to Leon Jackson. But as time marches on, the second place getters begin to gain ground on the winners. In 2008, JLS, who came in second place, account for 43% of Last.fm listens against the 2008 winner, Alexandra Burke’s 57%. 2009 brought similar results with winner Joe McElderry and runner up Olly Murs getting a 65/35 split in listens. Matt Sheret, Data Griot at Last.fm commented, ‘From the beginning of each series, right through to the final, the nation is gripped by all things X Factor. The show is now in its seventh year, and over time, actually winning the show has become less and less important. Runners up from the past few series are making it just as big, despite not making it to the finish line. So what does this mean for this year’s winners? Only time can tell but watch this space to see if the names Diva Fever, Wagner or Treyc mean anything in twelve months time!’
Kelis fired up her own barbeque in her dressing room to celebrate the 4th July on Sunday. Perhaps Channel 4 should give her a cooking show of her own!’ A host of other artists and backstage passers-by joined Kelis ‘ whose new single ’4th Of July (Fireworks)’ is out today (05.07.10) – for the food until concerned fire wardens put a halt to the impromptu barbeque after seeing the smoke.Other acts to perform at T4 On The Beach included Dizee Rascal and Alexandra Burke.

Taio Cruz (pronounced Tie-oh Cruise) (born 23 April 1983) is a Brit Award winning and MOBO-nominated English singer-songwriter, occasional rapper, and music producer. In 2008 he released his debut album Departure which he arranged and produced himself. In October 2009, he released his follow up album Rokstarr which includes his number one single “Break Your Heart”. In between the two albums and at present, Cruz has been working on productions and writing songs for Cheryl Cole, Brandy Norwood and the Sugababes. He is the founder and C.E.O. of Rokstarr Music London, which in 2006 released his debut single “I Just Wanna Know”. Also in 2006, he signed a joint-venture partnership deal with Music Companies, Republic Records and Island Records. In the UK, Cruz has worked with many artists including Omar, Nitin Sawhney, Wookie, and Will Young. Following the success of his own singles, record label chief Simon Cowell approached Cruz to write and produce tracks for Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis and Shayne Ward. At the 2008 MOBO Awards he was nominated for best single for the song “She’s Like A Star” and performed the single alongside the Sugababes who feature on the official remix of the song. In April 2010 Taio Cruz performed a live music session for London’s Big Top 40 with presenters Rich and Kat. He also spoke fondly of his experiences working with fellow artists Britney Spears, Shayne Ward and The Pussycat Dolls. As a multi-talented artist Taio Cruz said he wouldn’t be able to decide on a preference between his role as a producer, singer or songwriter and said that he loves being involved in all three. The interview can be viewed here and the acoustic performance was filmed and streamed on the Big Top 40 website.

Three wide-eyed lads from Harrow who seem to have stumbled on the formula for perfect pop: pop that gets in your head and stays there; winning pop.
Roy, Greg and Peter’s self-titled debut album went platinum and with EWTBOT hitting the charts at number one, it’s not ridiculous for us to suggest this one could go further. We look forward to watching their meteoric rise, and then watching their live show on July 4th. Oh, and a big salute to the Wolfcubs! Welcome to the beach… we’re glad to have you. Scouting for Girls join T4 On The Beach. T4 has unveiled UK chart-toppers Scouting for Girls as the latest act to join their annual summer music event T4 On The Beach. Lady Gaga requests tea and cheese in her concert riders. The eccentric pop star – who is known for her extravagant stage sets – has a surprisingly low-key list of requests for her backstage rider, including no alcohol. The ‘Telephone’ singer demands a roast chicken, a plate of cheese on ice with a tray of assorted meats, low-fat milk, salsa dips and whole-wheat bread and crackers to snack on before and after her gigs. Instead of alcoholic beverages, the 24-year-old star asks for ginger ale, 12 bottles of still water and a hot cup of tea or decaffeinated coffee. A music industry source told the Daily Star newspaper: “Despite her out-there image, this rider proves that Lady Gaga is actually quite down to earth and normal compared to the diva-like demands of some pop stars.” Lady Gaga also requests a pot of honey, which is known to combat stomach ulcers and sooth sore throats. Alexandra Burke is another star to follow in her footsteps as she demands an expensive £10 jar of Manuka honey before all her shows. However, Mariah Carey lives up to her diva reputation by demanding £750-a-bottle Cristal champagne and Evian water.
JLS and Robbie to clean up at the REAL Brits. UK Music lovers show who they really want to win Brit Awards ahead of tonight’s event. JLS and Robbie Williams are the undisputed champions of the 2010 Brit awards – and the event hasn’t even happened yet. Music video streaming site MUZU.TV polled over 5,000 Britons all last week to find out which artists we most want to win. Despite critics claiming that this year’s awards will be dominated by the women, the public have voted otherwise. Every day last week, MUZU.TV put hot favourite Brit nominees up against each other, to battle it out for the public vote on its ‘Video Fight Club’. Fans voted for the artists they think deserve to win in each category. The results of the REAL Brits are: · The most popular artist of the entire poll was international heart-throb Robbie Williams. The cheeky northerner gave Calvin Harris, Dizzy Rascal and Paulo Nutini a run for their money, winning a staggering 98% of votes for the British Male Solo award.
· X-Factor stars, JLS, have clearly also won the hearts of the nation – 77% of those polled voted for the boy band to win British Breakthrough Act.
· Diva Leona Lewis stole 97% of the votes to win the Best Female Solo Artist, leaving Pixie Lott and Bat for Lashes in the shade
· According to British music fans, Florence and the Machine should be taking home the Best Album gong. The flame haired crooner had 51% of the public’s vote, beating Dizzee Rascal and Lily Allen.
· 73% of us want Tinchy Stryder to walk away with Best Single for his track ‘Number One’, featuring N-Dubz. The pint sized urban music star, who’s monocle is ‘Star in the Hood’, stomped all over competition from Alexandra Burke, Alesha Dixon and Cheryl Cole
· Indie and rock fans around the country showed support for Kasabian, who won 62% of all votes to win Best Group.
The Brits will take place on Tonight 16 February at London’s Earls Court Arena commemorating 30 shows of the best in British music
