Operator Please release ‘Gloves’ Everyone’s favourite Australian baroque-pop ™ collective, Operator Please, burst onto the music scene in early 2007 with their addictive ‘Song About Ping Pong’, and their infectious debut album Yes Yes Vindictive. Aged only 16 they toured the world wowing crowds with their incredible presence and energy in Australia, Europe and Japan and found themselves supporting the likes of Bloc Party, Futureheads, Kaiser Chiefs and Arctic Monkeys. Now they are back, all grown up, and with a remarkably sophisticated sophomore album, titled Gloves. The band spent the last 12 months pouring their hearts into their work, self-producing the record at a farm near Australia’s Byron Bay, and in singer Amandah Wilkinson’s lounge on the Gold Coast, before mixing it in Los Angeles with long time No Doubt collaborator Jimmy Harry. ‘Gloves’ shows a fresh new direction for the band, a sound already turning heads as the first release, ‘Logic’, hits Australian and international airwaves. The reaction at home in Austrlaia was incredible, with national radio stations ripping and adding the track instantly after the band posted it on their myspace. Proving to be an instant hit there, ‘Logic’ – released in the UK last week digitally and limited edition 7′ on Brille Records – has also been picking up attention here from Radio 1, 6 Music, XFM, MTV, NME and all over the worldwide web. The album, ‘Gloves’ will be released in the UK on May 31st, preceded by the summery single ‘Back And Forth’ on May 24th. The album is already available for fans to pre-order via the bands website at www.operatorpleaseband.com along with exclusive goodies, including a limited edition cassette of bonus tracks.
The Features release new single and dates. The Features release new single ‘The Temporary Blues’ this May, taken from their second album ‘Some Kind Of Salvation’. The first single from this album ‘Lions’ received mass plays on Radio 1, Radio 2, 6 music and XFM, while their 3 shows in London this February all sold out. Currently on tour in the US with Biffy Clyro and Manchester Orchestra, the band return to the UK for 4 shows this April, and will also be supporting Kings Of Leon this June in Hyde Park. Some Kind of Salvation was produced by Grammy-Award winning Jacquire King (Modest Mouse, Kings Of Leon, Tom Waits, Sea Wolf) and Brian Carter. The band features Matthew Pelham (guitar, lead vocals), Roger Dabbs (bass guitar), Mark Bond (keyboards) and Rollum Haas (drums).

Hailing from New Brunswick, the bands anthemic tales of American life have captured the imagination and hearts of fans and media alike. ‘The ’59 Sound’ was hailed as one of the best albums of 2008 and Kerrang! magazine put The Gaslight Anthem on the cover before they had ever written a word about them.
NME called ‘The ’59 Sound’ one of the ‘best albums of 2008′, and immensely positive press poured in from Q Magazine, Rock Sound, Big Cheese, Clash and The Sun as well as great American press, including a cover feature in Alternative Press and major features in Rolling Stone and Spin. Playlist action at Radio One, Xfm and 6 Music are also media highlights of this band’s incredible rise to success over the last 12 months.
More about The Gaslight Anthem rose.
The Gaslight Anthem rose out of the fertile punk and hardcore scene of New Brunswick, NJ, flaunting a unique style that melded the sounds of Bruce Springsteen, Wilson Pickett, and various Motown groups with the rough, emotional grit of Hot Water Music and Jawbreaker. The band — comprised of vocalist/guitarist Brian Fallon, bassist Alex Levine, drummer Benny Horowitz, and guitarist Alex Rosamila — began establishing a loyal hometown crowd after forming in 2005, and their soulful punk rock melodies attracted wider attention upon the release of their full-length debut, Sink or Swim, which droped in May 2007 via the local imprint XOXO Records. Although rough around the edges, the album presented plenty of energetic, sing-along songs that garnered accolades from punk zines, blogs, and fans alike. The increasing popularity was enough to score gigs with the likes of Against Me!, the Loved Ones, and the Draft, and by the end of 2007, the Gaslight Anthem had played over 200 shows. They recorded the four-song EP Señor and the Queen in Austin, having managed to secure some down time between tour dates, and the record surfaced on Sabot Productions in early February 2008. Meanwhile, the Gaslight Anthem announced their brand-new deal with the California-based indie label SideOneDummy Records.
