Pendulum raise the roof for Crisis
Posted in: Gigs & Tickets by newsdesk on June 19, 2024
Zane Lowe and international stars Pendulum Thursday night performed amazing DJ sets at Cargo in London, alongside Chase and Status, The Bays and Beardyman. The gig for charity Crisis saw these top acts play to raise awareness and funds for the tens of thousands of hidden homeless1 people in the UK. The packed line up included a never before seen collaboration between beat box stars and live improvisers Beardyman and The Bays. The crowd were also wowed by an hour long DJ set from Zane Lowe, and performance from Chase and Status. The intimate concert called for support for many people approaching their local authority as homeless – particularly single people without dependent children. Zane Lowe said of the gig: ‘There is a perception of homelessness that needs to change. I don’t think many people are aware of how a quick change of circumstance can make living on the street or in a shelter a reality. Crisis do great work to help people in this situation and these Hidden Gigs are a part of that.’ Crisis Hidden Gigs is a series of London-based events throughout May and June and are a fantastic opportunity to see top acts in intimate, unusual spaces, making for a unique musical experience. The big twist is that the venues remain hidden until 24 hours before the gig, when a text or email message will be sent to the ticket holders revealing its location. The Crisis Hidden Gigs series continues with a gig from The Magic Numbers on 22nd June and Noah and the Whale on 24th June. For tickets and further information visit www.crisis.org.uk/hidden
