Nicole Richie’s Fashion Line Sues Kitson Boutique Over Alleged Unpaid Items. The company behind Nicole Richie’s fashion line Winter Kate is suing a Los Angeles boutique for $230,000 for allegedly failing to pay for the socialite’s items. Majestic Mills claims Kitson received $239,437 worth of Winter Kate apparels but still hasn’t paid for them.
According to our source, Majestic alleges Kitson promised to remit within 30 days of receiving an invoice they signed a deal earlier this year. But months have gone by and still Kitson hasn’t fulfilled their end of the bargain.The company now wants the posh boutique to hand over the payment for each of the clothes plus interests.But Kitson retaliates by accusing the company of delivering the wrong products and Richie of not personally appearing for the launch of the products.The shop told our source, “We ordered goods based on the launch and personal appearance by Nicole Richie for Winter Kate, produced by Majestic Mills. They not only failed to provide the launch and personal appearance by Nicole Richie, they shipped inferior goods, wrong sizes and the shipments were late.” “For the last three months we have been trying to return well over $200K of unsold goods. We gave them an ultimatum that if the goods were not picked up by Friday, we were going to donate them to a woman’s shelter.” “They told us this was not good for the brand but we think someone should benefit from their failure to fulfill their promises. The goods were on guaranteed sales, so we could always send back what we could not sell.”
