“Heroes” Star Jack Coleman Lands Role On “The Mentalist”. “Heroes” star Jack Coleman has landed a role on CBS’ “The Mentalist.” The 52-year-old actor, who famously played Noah Bennet in the now-defunct series, will be appearing in the October 14 episode of the crime drama. He will be playing Max Armstrong, a “wealthy, regal, arrogant, self-important man who becomes the prime suspect in a murder,” according to TV Guide. His calm, cold and collected demeanor attracts Patrick Jane’s (Simon Baker) curiosity. Coleman is best known by sci-fi fans as the man in Horn-Rimmed Glasses, a.k.a. HRG, in the NBC series. He is also recognized by older fans as Steven Carrington, one of the first gay characters on the soap “Dynasty.”The third season of “The Mentalist” will premiere on September 23.
