Elbow release limited edition Golden Ale

Elbow
Manchester’s Elbow aren’t content with the usual run of merch – t-shirts, hoodies, maybe caps if they’re feeling adventurous. No, they won’t stop until they have their name on their own beer.
The beer, named after their latest album ‘Build A Rocket Boys!’ is a limited edition Golden Premium Session Bitter, which clocks in at 4.0% ABV and is available in cask wine only. It was brewed with the help of Robinsons’ Ales.
According to the band’s website, ‘The new beer is brewered to Elbow’s own specifications after a series of tastings at the brewery. Band members sampled a range of Robinsons’ ales to shortlist their preferred style of beer, taste and colour before deciding on a golden ale with a rich rounded body, smooth bitterness, subtle tang of malt and fruity aroma.’
‘Build A Rocket Boys!’ Real Ale will be officially launched at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival, in October, 2011 and afterwards will be available at ‘selected’ Robinsons pubs during September and October.
For those of us not residing in the UK, it’s pretty unlikely we’ll get a chance to taste this beer, but we’ll certainly get a chance to see the band live.
They’ll be travelling around Europe and the USA over the next few months. Check them out at:
