The film “Skateland” received much praise at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival and now it’s coming to DVD. The movie takes place in the 1980s, focusing on the story of a boy trying to grow up in a time of financial and societal problems.

“Twilight’s” Ashley Greene and “Red Riding Hood’s” Shiloh Fernandez star in the film. Fernandez plays Ritchie Wheeler, a teenager living in a small town in Texas. Skateland is the nearby roller skating rink frequently patronized by Wheeler.

Greene plays Wheeler’s girlfriend, Michelle. The two have a strong relationship, but when a major event takes place in Wheeler’s life, he must make a life-changing decision.

The movie will be available on Blu-Ray and DVD on August 30.
