Carrie Underwood Heads To “Sesame Street” With “The Worm Anthem” After heading to Miami to perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday, country superstar Carrie Underwood is heading to Sesame Street. The “Play On” singer recorded a song specifically for the show. “I’m happy and I’m proud to be a worm/I can wiggle, I can squiggle, I can squirm,” Underwood sings on the short song, “The Worm Anthem.” A “Sesame Street” character was created in her likeness, Carrie Underworm. Carrie Underworm is a small orange worm with blonde hair singing into a wireless headset. In the clip, Underwood is introduced by NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon. The “Sesame Street” episode featuring Carrie Underwood’s “The Worm Anthem” airs Thursday, February 11th on PBS. The clip will also be featured on reairings on March 17th, April 8th, and April 26th. Along with the pint-sized puppet appearance and a guest stint on “How I Met Your Mother” airing in March, Underwood is heading to Hawaii to work on her first film. She’ll be starring in a movie based on the life of teen surfing sensation Bethany Hamilton, who made headlines when her left arm was bitten off by a tiger shark. Underwood will play her best friend.
