Elle has not one but two of the world’s biggest pop stars on the cover of their January 2010 issue: Lady Gaga and Britney Spears. And while they aren’t photographed together, they each are doing their best version of sexy and fierce for their respective covers. The two pop beauties Lady Gaga and Britney Spears are  happy to be on the double cover issue of Elle magazine. The album covers are very well-done and show softer sides of both Britney Spears and Lady Gaga. The two are known for their naughty acts and risque styles as performers, but that is not showcased on this cover. Lady Gaga is shown posing in a very sexy black lace dress, looking far from what she usually looks like on stage. Britney Spears looks extremelynot so  elegant and downright beautiful on her cover. Both of the covers have been done extremely well as the two pop stars are shown with greta style. Lady Gaga talks about marriage, babies and death. In Spears’ issue (which will get sent out to subscribers), there’s no interview, but the singer (who had a highly successful 2009 thanks the hit single “3,” and the sold-out everywhere Circus tour) poses in a cage looking dreamily at some mansion’s backyard in a blue Valentino goatskin coat with a dead & skinned animal fox fur and marabou-feather trim.  In the cover image, Britney — who just celebrated her 28th birthday this week — once again sits in her gilded cage (this time with her back to the camera, looking mysteriously over her shoulder) wearing the same coat. The look was styled by “The City” star and Elle magazine Creative Director, Joe Zee. It’s a more high-fashion Britney then fans are used to seeing, but anyone who went to her Circus tour this year will recognize Spears’ growing penchant for feathers (and cages as well, for that matter).
