Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Sue News Of The World Newspaper Over Published Allegations. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are fighting back after rumors of their possible split hit news outlets all around the world. But the couple is targeting one newspaper in particular: News Of The World. The paper published a story on January 24 stating that the couple were separating and had agreed to the division of assets and custody of their children after allegedly visiting divorce attorney Sorrell Trope. After the publication the couple’s attorney, Keith Schilling, responded to the article calling the “widely republished” allegations “false and intrusive.” He also added that News Of The World did not meet “reasonable demands,” mainly an apology and a retraction of the allegations. The couple was also upset because the article began a wildfire of stories that were “widely republished by mainstream news outlets.” Trope later responded to the report in a letter to Schilling stating, “I have had no contact from… Angelina Jolie and / or Brad Pitt. I have never met… your clients or had any involvement with either of them. The foregoing is true with respect to all other members of this firm.” The News Of The World has not yet commented on the suit. In the meantime, Pitt and Jolie were seen attending the Super Bowl on Sunday night in Miami with their oldest son, Maddox, cheering on the New Orleans Saints
