Aerosmith Adds South American Concerts To Tour Schedule
Aerosmith Adds South American Concerts To Tour Schedule. After questions regarding whether or not they are staying together, one classic rock band is definitely back and ready to rock across the world, and naysayers will have to “Dream On.”
The members of Aerosmith have announced plans to add concerts in South America to their upcoming tour. This marks the first time the band has performed on the continent since 2007. The “Cocked, Locked, Ready to Rock Tour” was originally planned for European locales starting in June, but the South American dates will take place in May. “Back by popular demand with more spit and fire than ever before, we’re coming across the pond and parting the waters as we go,” said frontman Steven Tyler in a press release. Tyler’s stage-related injuries in 2009 led to unease about the group’s future. Disputes between Tyler and the rest of the band were resolved in early 2010. This was not the first time they had changes in the group. Perry left the band in 1979 after nine years with them to form a solo venture. Rhythm guitarist Brad Whitford also left to pursue other interests in 1981. Both returned in 1984 and have since remained part of the lineup. “Enough B.S.,” Perry said. “We’re coming, and everything is going to be set at 11.” Whitford also expressed his anticipation about the tour. “I’m not sure who is happier, the band or the fans,” he said. “Can’t wait to get started.” The tour will include stop-offs in Caracas, Venezuela’s La Rinconada Hippodrome; Bogota, Colombia’s Simon Bolivar Park; Lima, Peru’s Peru/Explanada Monumental; Santiago, Chile’s Estadio Nacional; Buenos Aires, Argentina’s Hippodromo San Isidro; and Sao Paulo, Brazil’s Palmeiras. The group’s Europe concerts will take place in Sweden, England, Greece, Romania, Italy, The Netherlands and more.
