Bubba the Love Sponge has guns stolen out of car
Posted in: Coffee Talk by newsdesk on June 18, 2024
Shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge Clem was missing from the radio this morning, following news that two handguns and an honorary sheriff’s badge were taken from his car Wednesday night after a burglary at a St. Petersburg bowling alley. Police recovered the items after witnesses reported a description of the burglars and undercover officers arrested two men. Clem’s 2005 Chevrolet Suburban was among three vehicles reported burglarized at the Sunrise Lanes on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N at 11:07 Wednesday night, according to St. Petersburg Police. The radio personality reported a fanny pack was taken from his vehicle containing credit cards, a bank card, two handguns and an honorary sheriff’s badge from Indiana; Clem has a concealed weapons permit. Clem’s boss at WHPT-FM (The Bone 102.5), the Tampa station which airs his top-rated morning radio show, said the host decided to sleep in today after staying up late Wednesday night handling details related to the burglary. His program airs at 6 a.m. weekdays. “If it would have happened to me, I would have done the same thing,” said Jay O’Connor, Tampa market manager for WHPT owner Cox Radio. “I’d rather he get a good night’s sleep than feel the need to come in and do a bad show.”
Nicholas Reynard McCant, 19, and Mario E. McCant, 20, were arrested and charged with a range of offenses relating to the burglary, including grand theft, resisting arrest and violation of parole, according to police.

More infos about Adam Lambert’s debut album revealed. This time, the future icon told Oprah’s site that he will give some of his “efforts” in writing songs. Like his co-Idol “winner” (Kris Allen will kill me) David Cook and Kelly Clarkson, Adam wants to be more involved with the production of his album, unlike other popstars who’s fond of waiting or buying songs (like who? harhar). He told Oprah.com, “We started writing, and I’ve been able to co-write on a handful of tracks and there’s more to come.” Adam also revealed that he’s enjoying the production pace, and very excited with his debut album. Meanwhile E! Online reports that Adam will be working with Lady GaGa’s producer RedOne, the team behind the hit songs “Poker Face” and “Just Dance”.
Dave Matthews Band adds shows to ‘King’ tour
Posted in: On Tour by newsdesk on June 18, 2024
LOS ANGELES - The Dave Matthews Band [ tickets ] has added a pair of new shows to its current tour slate behind the band’s hot-selling new album, “Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King.” The Sept. 9 and 10 shows at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre come immediately after the band’s three-night stand at the Gorge Amphitheater in George, WA. The group, which continues the trek tomorrow night (6/19) near Pittsburgh, will head overseas for a European tour leg later this month. Tickets for the two LA shows go on sale to the general public starting Friday (6/ 19). Details for the group’s US tour dates are included below, and international dates are posted at DMB’s website. Last weekend, the band drew more than 50,000 fans to Saratoga Springs, NY, for a pair of outdoor concerts. State-park police made 34 arrests and issued 58 appearance tickets to concertgoers over the weekend, according to local authorities. “Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King,” which hit stores earlier this month, marks the band’s first studio set since the death of saxophonist LeRoi Moore last summer. Guitarist Tim Reynolds returned to the studio with the band for the record-his first recording with DMB since 1998’s “Before These Crowded Streets.” The set debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 in early June, moving about 424,000 copies during its first week on store shelves to make the album the third-highest selling debut of the year, behind Eminem’s “Relapse” (608,000 copies) and U2’s “No Line on the Horizon” (484,000 copies), according to Nielsen SoundScan retail figures as reported by Billboard. Produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance), “Big Whiskey” is the follow-up to 2005’s “Stand Up,” the fourth consecutive Dave Matthews Band effort to enter the US album chart at No. 1. In addition to DMB members Dave Matthews (vocals, guitar), Carter Beauford (drums), Stefan Lessard (bass) and Boyd Tinsley (violin), the group will be joined on the road by Reynolds, trumpeter Rashawn Ross and saxophonist Jeff Coffin.
