LOS ANGELES - Nick Jonas has graduated from high school. The 16-year-old Disney pop star announced the news on the Jonas Brothers’ Twitter blog. He wrote: “I’m happy to announce I have graduated! Class of ‘09! Congrats to everyone else who has also graduated this year! Mr. President (Nick).” Nick - who along with his bandmate brothers Kevin and Joe was home schooled - finished two years earlier than the average US high school student. The youngest of the three brothers, he is last to finish his schooling. Nick is said to have celebrated in Madrid, Spain, last weekend where he was on a promotional tour. The musical trio were urged to play an impromptu show outside Britain’s Radio One studios in London, attracting hundreds of teenage fans yesterday (15.06.09). The group performed their song ‘Paranoid’ as well as a version of Katy Perry song ‘Thinking Of You’.

The Jonas Brothers will soon return to the US where they will start a world tour on Friday (19.06.09).

LOS ANGELES - The older brother of actress Mia Farrow has been found dead in his Vermont art gallery. The body of sculptor Patrick Farrow, 66, was discovered by police at 11:30pm on Monday night at Farrow Gallery in Castleton after they received an emergency call from his wife Susan. Officers are treating the death as suspicious and are planning an autopsy to determine the cause. Patrick’s death comes less than six months after Mia’s daughter Lark Previn died in a New York hospital following a long undisclosed illness. The Farrow family also suffered more heartbreak just over a year ago when Mia and Patrick’s nephew Jason Dene was killed in Iraq. Vermont State Police Lt. Timothy Oliver said in a statement: ‘The victim’s body is being sent to the office of the chief medical examiner for autopsy to determine cause and manner of death.’ Sorrow: In the last 13 months, Mia Farrow has lost her daughter Lark Previn, nephew Jason Dene and now her brother Lt Oliver added the death was considered suspicious because parts of the investigation ‘did not add up’, but said police did not consider foul play. Patrick, who is two years older than his famous sister, was born in Los Angeles and lived his early adult life in New York before moving to Vermont 30 years ago. He and his wife Susan co-owned and operated the Farrow Gallery, where his body was found. Mia is yet to release a statement regarding her brother’s death, with her representative admitting: ‘She is definitely quite upset.’ Born in Los Angeles in 1945 to Australian director John Farrow and Irish actress Maureen O’Sullivan, Mia leaped to fame in 1964 in the popular U.S. soap opera Peyton Place. During her year on the show, she fell for legendary crooner Frank Sinatra and married him in 1966 when she was 21 and he was 50. Their marriage last just two years, during which Sinatra demanded Mia drop her critically-acclaimed performance in Rosemary’s Baby, which she refused. Two years later, Mia married German-Austrian pianist Andre Previn and despite divorcing in 1979, remained on good terms after.
The couple had three biological children together and adopted three others, including Lark and Soon-Yi, who famously had an affair with Mia’s next partner Woody Allen. In 1980, Mia started a long-term relationship with director Woody, although the two never lived together.
They adopted two more children together and had a biological son Ronan together. Mia became Woody’s muse and starred in 13 of his films, most notably Hannah And Her Sisters in 1986.

LOS ANGELES - On the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” finale, we finally got to see Teresa Giudice overturn that table and call Danielle Staub a “prostitution whore,’ among other things. And so did several of the cast members’ children. I’ve criticized Teresa’s parenting on this site before, but she was the only one who had the sense enough last night to get her young children out of the room after Danielle whipped out a copy of “Cop Without a Badge”and prepared to address gossip about her sordid past. Had they stayed at the restaurant table, where the families were having a tense get-to-together, they would have watched their normally cheerful mom fly into such a shrieking, cursing rage her husband had to restrain her. But all the other’s wives children-including Danielle’s ten-year-old daughter-had front row seats to the showdown. True, Danielle had the foresight to brief them beforehand on the fact that there was this book, and there was some talk in town, and she had made some mistakes in the past-and here, she helpfully illustrated with some blurred out modeling photos that prompted horrified looks from the kids. But nothing could have prepared them for the ugly confrontation that followed. I know the producers must have encouraged the whole thing, and I know the kids-ranging in age from tweens to their early twenties-would have seen it on TV or heard about it later. But having to witness it in person while the cameras rolled was far more traumatic, I’m sure. And of all the questionable decisions the moms and dads have made on the show, that one was the worst.

LOS ANGELES - Pop star Lady Gaga lived up to her reputation as a fearless fashion icon when she wore a black see-through catsuit with an exaggerated clown collar to a press conference in Seoul, Wednesday. “Gaga style does not equal kooky. I have a natural inclination for haute couture and avant-garde fashion. To me, this is not shocking,” Lady Gaga said, referring to the skintight outfit by Tokyo-based designer Dress Camp. “It’s vogue and beautiful.” Lady Gaga was in Seoul for a three-day promotional trip, which included a showcase at Club Answer, Cheongdam-dong Wednesday evening. The petite blonde singer has topped the charts with catchy dance songs like “Just Dance,” “Poker Face,” and “Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say).” However, it was her eclectic style that elicited more questions during the press conference than her music. “It’s exciting for me (to be considered a fashion icon). A year and a half ago, when I first came out, people said I looked funny. … It’s great that now it’s so mainstream,” Lady Gaga said. Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, Lady Gaga grew up in Manhattan and studied at a private Catholic school where she has said she was an “outcast.” Now that she’s a star, Lady Gaga still feels like a “outcast.” “In some ways I’m still a pop cultural misfit. I don’t think I’ve changed. I’m still myself,” she laughed. Beneath the outrageous outfits, it was obvious that Lady Gaga takes her music, fashion and performances very seriously. “You can say the philosophy of Gaga is fashion-music-technology-performance art. It’s an interactive experience for the audience,” she said. “I design everything together and New York is the nexus of my inspiration. I was born and raised in New York City. I am inspired by street fashion and the attitude. Andy Warhol is a huge inspiration of mine and I have a lot of Pop Art elements in the show. I am so passionate about my music.” Lady Gaga is planning to release a new version of her debut album, tentatively titled “The Fame Monster,” later this year. “I’m obsessed with 1950s science fiction monster movies. The inspiration from the album comes from the sort of dark infatuation with monsters and apocalypse and darkness and theater. So you will see in this album, a more scary Lady Gaga, if I wasn’t already freaking you out enough,” she said, wryly. Lady Gaga is currently planning a fall tour with hip-hop star Kanye West in the U.S., but Korean fans just might have a chance to see her againthis summer. “Nothing’s been decided on a international tour with Kanye, but I’m tentatively coming to Korea this summer on my own for some summer festival,” she said. During the press conference, Lady Gaga, who loves collecting wigs, was given a traditional Korean wig. She also revealed that one of her best friends while growing up in New York was a Korean adoptee. “We used to go out for Korean food together. She’s never been here before so I sent her photos and told her about what I’ve seen here. It’s personally very exciting for me,” she said.

LOS ANGELES - “American Idiot is a rock opera. But I was very self-conscious about it,” Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong told Rolling Stone’s David Fricke. “I didn’t want it to come across as pretentious. Someone said, ‘What is the influence?’ I said, ‘This record has more in common with Rocky Horror than Leonard Cohen.’ ” Armstrong might have been skittish about American Idiot’s theatrical leanings five years ago, but with the album a Grammy-winning, blockbuster-selling success and a second punk opera under the band’s belt — this year’s 21st Century Breakdown — he’s a little more comfortable with the idea. In fact, with the American Idiot musical underway, he’s letting his appreciation for Broadway hang out a bit more. “After we did the first concert version of the libretto — with these 12 actors and singers, performing the whole thing for the band — we all went out afterwards for dinner,” the show’s director, Spring Awakening’s Michael Mayer said. “I don’t know why, but as a certain point, Billie and I were sitting across from each other, singing a song together from Gypsy. It was hilarious.” Mayer reveals some details about the musical, which premieres September 4th at the Berkeley Repertory Theater — including how the album’s songs will mingle with B sides and Breakdown tracks.
